Chief Minister Dhami Directs Immediate Relief Measures in Disaster-Affected Areas
Aug 2025 : On Friday, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level meeting on disaster management at the CM residence and instructed officials to ensure that all basic facilities are made available without delay in the affected areas.
Following reports of cloudbursts in parts of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri, and Bageshwar districts, the Chief Minister immediately spoke with the District Magistrates of the concerned districts over phone and directed them to accelerate relief and rescue operations. He instructed that affected people must be promptly evacuated to safe locations and that there should be no delay in this process.
During the high-level disaster management meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized that disrupted road connectivity, power supply, and drinking water facilities should be restored at the earliest. He also obtained detailed updates on the cloudburst incidents from the District Magistrates of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri, and Bageshwar through virtual conferencing and instructed further intensification of relief and rescue efforts. The Chief Minister also reviewed the rainfall situation and road conditions in Nainital district with its District Magistrate.
CM Dhami further directed that both the government and administration must remain on high alert throughout the monsoon season. He made it clear that all required resources and facilities for disaster relief operations demanded by the District Magistrates should be provided immediately. Additionally, he instructed that compensation must be released to the affected families without delay and in accordance with the prescribed standards.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Shri R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Principal Secretary Shri Shailesh Bagoli, Additional Director General of Police Shri A.P. Anshuman, Secretary of Disaster Management Shri Vinod Kumar Suman, Garhwal Commissioner Shri Vinay Shankar Pandey, and Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate.
