Inauguration of Farm Access Roads at Tung, Ashta, and Karandwadi by Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge

Farmers Express Satisfaction, Thank the Administration

Sangli, Sept 2025 :State Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Vikas Kharge today visited Tung in Miraj taluka and Ashta and Karandwadi in Walwa taluka, where he inaugurated farm access roads constructed under the 100-day action plan. He also inspected the works and interacted with farmers. District Collector Ashok Kakade, Miraj Sub-Divisional Officer Uttam Dighe, Walwa Sub-Divisional Officer Shrinivas Arjun, and Tehsildar Rajshekhar Limbare were present.

At Tung, the Krishnanand farm access road, built under the guidance of the Tehsildar with farmers’ cooperation, was inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Vikas Kharge. He also inaugurated similar farm access roads at Ashta and Karandwadi in Walwa taluka. After inspecting the roads, he held discussions with the local farmers.

Thanks to a government resolution of the Revenue and Forest Department, these farm roads were made possible. Farmers expressed their satisfaction over the opening of the roads and felicitated Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge, District Collector Ashok Kakade, and the revenue administration in gratitude.

Earlier, the absence of proper roads had caused hardships. Farmers shared their experiences before and after the road construction, stating that the new routes had eased commuting. Having proper access roads is crucial for farmers to reach their fields. Farm and access roads are essential for transporting farm produce to markets and moving agricultural machinery. Farmers expressed that the opening of these roads has now made transportation of crops and equipment much easier.


Launch of ‘Seva Pakhwada’ Campaign by ACS Vikas Kharge in Miraj; Revenue Scheme Vehicle Flagged Off

The Government of Maharashtra has organized a “Seva Pakhwada” (Fortnight of Service) initiative from September 17, the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. During this period, various welfare schemes of the Revenue Department will be delivered to the general public.

As part of this initiative, the “Revenue Schemes Vehicle” was flagged off by State Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Vikas Kharge at the Miraj Tehsil office. District Collector Ashok Kakade, Zilla Parishad CEO Vishal Narwade, Commissioner of Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad Municipal Corporation Satyam Gandhi, Resident Deputy Collector Dr. Snehal Kaniche, Miraj Sub-Divisional Officer Uttam Dighe, and Tehsildar Dr. Aparna More-Dhumal, along with other officials and staff of the Revenue Department, were present. Through this vehicle, information on welfare schemes will be disseminated in all villages of Miraj taluka until October 2.

Under Seva Pakhwada, special Gram Sabhas will be organized in all villages of Miraj taluka on September 17 to verify and record details of all Shiv roads, farm access roads, cart tracks, and footpaths in the official records. In the second phase, land distribution to eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will be carried out. Additionally, under innovative initiatives, benefits of the Sanjay Gandhi Scheme will be sanctioned for differently-abled beneficiaries, informed Miraj Tehsildar Dr. More-Dhumal.
