Union Minister Savitri Thakur Inspects Anganwadi and Sakhi Centers in Surguja
Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Savitri Thakur was on a visit to Surguja district today on Sunday. Women and Child Development Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Laxmi Rajwada also participated in the programs with her. Union Minister of State Smt. Thakur inspected Anganwadi centers and Sakhi One Stop Center. Smt. Thakur participated in the Mann Ki Baat Shravan program of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in PG College Auditorium of Ambikapur. First of all, she inspected Sakhi One Stop Center Darripara and took stock of the necessary facilities for women. She instructed the officials to pay special attention to the safety of women. She asked the officials to take necessary initiatives to reunite the women separated from their families with their families. The Protection Officer told that so far 315 families have been saved from breaking up by giving necessary counseling.
Appeal to mothers, send children to Anganwadi regularly
After this, Smt. Thakur also inspected the Anganwadi centers of the district and by organizing a nutrition chaupal, advised women, Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi assistants to be aware of nutrition. During this, she inspected Anganwadi centers Indira Nagar, Navapara and Bangalipara. By participating in the Godhbharai program in Anganwadi centers, she performed the Godhbharai ritual by applying tilak to pregnant women and giving them coconut, gram, jaggery, fruits, vegetables, makeup items and wishing them. She fed kheer to the children with great affection and performed Anna-Prashna. Women of the self-help group running livelihood activities in the Navapara Anganwadi Center premises also met the Union Minister of State and discussed about increasing the income of the group. In this episode, under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, by planting trees in the Anganwadi Center premises, she inspired everyone to plant trees and also asked them to take responsibility for the protection of the trees. Chhattisgarh’s Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Rajwade also participated in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” tree plantation campaign. At the Anganwadi Centre Bangalipara, she informed the women present about the government schemes and motivated them to take advantage of the schemes. She appealed to the women present there to send their children to the Anganwadi Centre regularly. She also visited the centre herself and ensured that the Anganwadi Centre opens on time and that cleanliness is maintained in the centre. After this, she attended the Mann Ki Baat Shravan programme of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the PG College Auditorium. On this occasion, MLA Ambikapur Shri Rajesh Agarwal, Lundra MLA Shri Prabodh Minj, Collector Shri Vilas Bhoskar along with local public representatives, eminent citizens and high-level officers of various departments were present.
