Telangana Govt Launches Two Self-Employment Schemes for Minority Women and Poor
Hyderabad, Sept 2025 : The Telangana government has taken another significant step towards inclusive growth by launching two new self-employment schemes aimed at empowering minority women and providing economic support to underprivileged communities.
Minister for SC, ST, Minority, Disabled, Senior Citizens, and Transgender Welfare, Adluri Laxman Kumar, formally unveiled the initiatives on Friday—‘Indiramma Minority Women Yojana’ and ‘Revantanna Ka Sahara Miskeeno ke Liye’.
Financial support for women
Under the Indiramma Minority Women Yojana, the government will extend financial assistance of ₹50,000 each to widows, divorcees, orphans, and unmarried women. The aim is to help them establish small businesses and attain self-reliance. The scheme is designed to provide women with not just financial aid but also dignity and independence through entrepreneurship.
Minister Kumar stressed that the programme would play a vital role in improving the living standards of minority families. “This initiative is a step towards strengthening women economically, enabling them to secure a sustainable livelihood,” he said.
Mobility support for poor communities
The second scheme, Revantanna Ka Sahara Miskeeno ke Liye, targets the Fakir and Dudekula communities. Beneficiaries will receive mopeds worth ₹1 lakh each, provided with government grants. This measure, the Minister noted, will enhance their mobility, expand livelihood opportunities, and ease access to markets and workplaces.
“These mopeds will empower members of marginalized communities by providing them better means to earn a livelihood. Financial empowerment is key to their overall progress,” he remarked.
Government commitment to minorities
Highlighting the vision of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Minister said these schemes reflect the government’s strong commitment to the welfare of minorities. “Our Chief Minister is a leader who delivers on his promises without delay. Within just two months of my tenure as Minister, I feel privileged to implement such meaningful programmes,” he added.
The government has allocated ₹30 crore exclusively for these two schemes, underlining its dedication to minority welfare. Kumar emphasized that the focus is not just on subsidies, but on building pathways to self-employment and long-term growth.
“When small businesses thrive, families prosper, and youth in these families gain better opportunities in education and jobs. These are not short-term relief measures but investments in sustainable development,” he said.
Registration and implementation
Online registrations for both schemes opened on Friday, with applications being accepted until October 6 on the Telangana Online Beneficiary Management and Monitoring System (TGOBMMS) portal: http://tgobmms.cgg.gov.in.
Presence of key officials
The launch event was attended by Minority Finance Corporation Chairman Obedullah Kotwal, Waqf Board Chairman Syed Azmatullah Hussaini, Libraries Chairman Riaz, and several other dignitaries.
The Minister concluded by assuring that the government, under CM Revanth Reddy’s leadership, will continue to roll out innovative schemes to uplift minorities and ensure equal opportunities for all sections of society.
