Rajasthan Showcases Inclusive Development, Major Boost to Tribal Empowerment Under CM Bhajanlal Sharma
Jaipur, Nov 2025 — Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government is committed to the upliftment of tribal regions with the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”. To realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an “inclusive and self-reliant India,” the state government has formulated and implemented strong policies aimed at the holistic development of tribal areas.
Under CM Sharma’s guidance, the Tribal Area Development Department is driving rapid progress in education, health, sports, water management, employment, and cultural preservation. The ideology of Bhagwan Birsa Munda — “protect your land, culture and rights” — is being reflected through state policies. This year, on the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, the state government is organising various programmes across Rajasthan under the Tribal Pride Fortnight (1–15 November).
TSP Fund Increased by 1.5 Times
Taking a major step towards tribal welfare, the state government has increased the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) fund from ₹1,000 crore to ₹1,500 crore. The Govind Guru Tribal Regional Development Scheme has also been launched, focusing on the development of community forest rights areas. New residential schools are being established at Devla–Kotra (Udaipur) and Jaswantpura (Jalore), along with a Sahariya Tribal Sports Academy in Shahbad (Baran).
To provide nutrition and primary education close to home, 250 new Maa-Badi centres are being set up. The honorarium of teachers, women assistants, and health workers at these centres has been increased by 10% from financial year 2025–26.
Strengthening Education and Skill Development
Thousands of tribal youth are receiving high-quality education and skill training.
Around 25,000 students are getting free accommodation, meals, and academic facilities in 446 ashram hostels. Over 3,800 students are studying in 23 residential schools, while 30 Eklavya Model Residential Schools cater to about 10,000 students with modern teaching methods, digital learning, and sports facilities.
Under the Chief Minister’s Anuprati Coaching Scheme, 878 students are receiving free coaching and hostel facilities for competitive exams.
Skill training centres like RSLDC, CIPET Jaipur, and IDTR Railmagra are training thousands of youth in technical and vocational fields. At Ashok Leyland Training Centre, Railmagra, 25 youths have been trained as heavy vehicle drivers.
Boost to Sports Talent
Across 13 sports academies, 895 students are receiving professional training. The government has increased the mess allowance in sports hostels to ₹4,000 per month. Coaches’ appointments, equipment supply, and competitions are being prioritised. Rajasthan’s students have earned national recognition, including four students winning third place at a national cultural competition.
Water Conservation Through Community Participation
Water restoration projects—including anicut construction, canal strengthening, and rejuvenation of water structures—are transforming tribal regions. At least 30% community contribution is ensured in works such as schools, roads, drinking water facilities, and community halls under the Tribal Participation Scheme.
Reviving Tribal Heritage
The state is preserving tribal heritage and honouring tribal icons.
₹25 crore has been sanctioned to build memorials for tribal heroes and the Veer Balika Kali Bai Museum in Dungarpur, Banswara, and Udaipur. Facilities are being developed at religious sites like Sitabari, Kamalnath Mahadev, and Jawar Mata Temple.
Under the PM Janman Yojana, 8 of the 17 multipurpose centres in Baran district have been completed. Under the Swachh Project, 4,560 health workers are active in the TB-free India mission and Sickle Cell Anaemia control.
Innovative Programmes Driving Holistic Growth
