New Delhi, Nov 2025 : Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, felicitated the Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team — the undefeated champions of the inaugural Blind Women’s T20 World Cup — at 10 Janpath on Wednesday. The team scripted history by lifting the first-ever title in Sri Lanka, defeating Nepal by seven wickets in a commanding final performance.

Rahul Gandhi shared his admiration on Facebook, writing: “Today, had the honour of hosting the Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team, the proud winners of the inaugural T20 World Cup, in New Delhi. Their historic victory is a powerful message of courage and possibilities. Their grit, discipline, and extraordinary spirit are an inspiration for the entire nation. India is proud of these champions.”

India’s triumph was marked by complete dominance, as the team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Winning the toss in the final, India opted to field, restricting Nepal to 114 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. The chase was executed with remarkable precision. The Indian side overhauled the target in just 12.1 overs, with 47 balls remaining. Khula Sharir delivered a standout performance, scoring a fluent, unbeaten 44 off 27 deliveries and anchoring India’s successful chase with confidence and flair.

The path to the final showcased India’s commanding form. In the semifinals, they defeated Australia by nine wickets, while Nepal edged past Pakistan to secure the other final berth. Earlier in the group stage, India had displayed overwhelming superiority, beating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets, Australia by a record 209 runs, Nepal by 85 runs, the United States by 10 wickets, and Pakistan by eight wickets.
