Tribal Cultural Centres to be Established in Four Districts: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that providing quality education, employment, and cultural preservation to students is a priority of the government. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing the Scheduled Caste Welfare and Tribal Affairs Departments at the Maharaja Chhatrasal Convention Centre in Khajuraho. While reviewing the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, the Chief Minister instructed that hostels should be modernized using new technology for the benefit of students. Construction of under-construction hostel buildings should be completed promptly. He also directed that the process of providing loans to youth under higher education and self-employment schemes be made faster and simpler.
Tribal Cultural Centres to be Built in Four Districts
During the review of the Tribal Affairs Department, the Chief Minister emphasized preserving the rich tribal heritage of the state. He instructed that “Tribal Cultural Centres” be established in areas inhabited by Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups to protect and promote their culture.
Under this initiative, cultural centres will be built for
- Baiga tribe in Mandla,
- Bharia tribe in Chhindwara,
- Sahariya tribe in Sheopur, and
- Bhil tribe in Dhar.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the “PM Janman Yojana” and the “DhartiAba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan” should be implemented effectively in tribal regions. He instructed that these schemes must not only provide basic amenities but also prepare committed community leadership under the “Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan” to ensure holistic development of the tribal community.
Additionally, the Chief Minister directed that tribal worship sites (dev sthans) be upgraded and grand local-level events be organized to commemorate the sacrifices of local tribal heroes.
Those present included Tribal Affairs Minister Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah, SC Welfare Minister Shri Nagar Singh Chauhan, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Neeraj Mandloi, Principal Secretary SC Welfare Shri E. Ramesh Kumar, and Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Shri Gulshan Bamra.
Achievements of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department
- Hostel seat capacity has been maximized; more than 90% seats are currently occupied.
- Under the Foreign Study Scholarship Scheme, 31 new students have been selected for 2025–26; 24 students are already studying abroad.
- Under the Civil Services Incentive Scheme, students preparing for UPSC and MPPSC are provided financial assistance and accommodation. In 2024–25, 271 students succeeded at various levels.
- Regular scholarships provided to students studying in national institutions such as IIT, IIM, NIT, NLIU, IIIT etc. Beneficiaries: 1,736 students in 2023-24 and 1,819 students in 2024-25.
- The Inter-caste Marriage Promotion Scheme has been made online, making application and payment simple, transparent, and time-bound.
- 10 Gyanodaya Schools are currently operational, providing residential facilities to students.
- Loans are being provided to youth through the Sant Ravidas Self-Employment Scheme and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Economic Welfare Scheme.
- Almost all pending cases of post-matric scholarships have been cleared, ensuring timely financial assistance.
- Hostel building construction has accelerated: 33 of 63 buildings completed, 30 under construction.
- Under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, 117 of 150 Anganwadi buildings have been completed.
- Innovations of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department
- Digital disposal of POA Act cases.
- Fully online, transparent, and time-bound system for providing immediate relief to victims under the POA Act, 1989.
- Integration of MPTAASC portal (SC Welfare Department) with the CCTNS portal (Police Department).
- Online Verification for Inter-caste Marriage Scheme
- Online application process for the Inter-caste Marriage Promotion Scheme launched on the MPTAASC portal in 2025-26.
- New merit-based criteria introduced for the Foreign Education Scheme.

- Priority on IT reforms, procedural improvements, hostel construction, expansion of self-employment schemes, and PETC training.

- Proposal to increase the number of students in the Delhi Student Home from 50 to 200, and to increase monthly assistance from ₹1,766 to ₹10,000.

- Scholarships worth ₹766 crore to 23.59 lakh students.
- Approval issued for construction of 5 buildings for residential coaching for competitive exams.
- 1,250 students successful in civil service exams received ₹2.60 crore as incentive.
- Grand celebrations of Tribal Pride Day.
- On the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, large-scale celebrations held at state, district, block, gram panchayat and village levels.

- Electricity supply provided to 26,810 houses through on-grid connections, and 835 houses through solar electrification.
