Major Crackdown on Illegal Mining and Transport in the Aravalli Region

Jaipur, January 2026 : In line with the directives of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the Jaipur district administration has intensified action to protect the ecology of the Aravalli hill range and to effectively curb illegal mining activities. Acting on the instructions of District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, a major joint अभियान was carried out over the past five days against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals.

The coordinated operation was conducted by the Mining Department, district administration, and the police, with simultaneous raids at various locations across the district. Mining Engineer Shri Shyam Chaudhary informed that joint teams carried out enforcement drives in multiple police station areas, leading to the seizure of heavy machinery and transport vehicles involved in illegal mining.

During the action, a total of 50 vehicles were seized, including 2 excavator machines, 14 dumpers, and 34 tractor-trolleys that were being used for illegal mining and transportation of minerals. In connection with these violations, 46 cases were registered, and penalties amounting to Rs 50.36 lakh were recovered and deposited into the government treasury.

Additionally, seven FIRs were lodged against individuals involved in illegal mining and mineral extraction. These included one case at Shivdaspura police station, two at Kotkhawda, three at Chaksu, and one at Kanota police station.

District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni issued clear instructions to officials, stating that any illegal mining or transportation of minerals causing damage to the fragile ecology of the Aravalli region will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He emphasized that the strictest possible action, as per the law, will be taken against those involved in such illegal activities.

Dr. Soni further stated that similar joint and intensive enforcement drives will continue in the future to ensure effective control over illegal mining and to safeguard the Aravalli ecosystem.
