Lucknow, 19 January
To take the double engine government’s vision “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” to every daughter, Lakhimpur Kheri district administration has started a unique initiative. Under this, “DM Kheri ki Pathshala” has been inaugurated to spread the light of education in the life of every daughter of the district. DM Durga Shakti Nagpal and public representatives handed over “Vidyadayini Potli” to 9,000 girl students of council schools and Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girl Schools on Monday. White board cum study table, marker and duster etc. gifts were provided to daughters in the potli.
DM told that the objective of “DM Kheri ki Pathshala” is to ensure that the study of daughters of the district is not limited only to school but proper resources are available for study at home too. Through this initiative, daughters will get facility and better environment for study at home along with school. They will be able to establish their small pathshala at home itself. Through this, they will do their study as well as inspire people around and in family to study through the environment of education. Under this unique initiative, “Vidyadayini Potli” has been handed over to 9 thousand daughters in the first phase. This process will continue continuously. Resolve has been taken to take it to every daughter, so that double engine government’s vision can be fulfilled 100 percent on ground.
Under “DM Kheri ki Pathshala”, in the first phase, “Vidyadayini Potli” has been provided to 6,798 topper daughters of council schools, 51 daughters selected in Wall of Dreams and 2,151 daughters studying in Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girl Schools. In council schools, two-two topper daughters of class 6, 7 and 8 have been provided potli. These 9 thousand potlis have been prepared at cost of 19 lakh 80 thousand rupees. This potli has been prepared to further the double engine government’s “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” vision. In the mega event organized on Monday at Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girl School Rajapur, DM Durga Shakti Nagpal and MLA Sadar Yogesh Verma distributed these potlis among the girl students.
DM said that when daughters will study at home too, then the foundation of their bright future will be strengthened. Through education, they will not only become self-reliant but will also spread new light in the society. MLA Sadar Yogesh Verma said that DM’s farsightedness and active initiative has given new flight to daughters’ study. Her leadership ability has given opportunity to light the lamp of knowledge in every girl’s home.
In the mega event, ‘Wall of Dreams’ was constructed, which became the center of attraction. Daughters of council school beautifully displayed their imagination and creativity by depicting their future dreams on colorful posters. Administration gave place to selected posters among these in ‘Wall of Dreams’.

In the mega event, public representatives also provided “Vidyadayini Potli” to daughters of council and Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girl Schools. Wave of happiness and enthusiasm was seen on daughters’ faces after receiving the potli. Among those distributing potli were MLA Saurabh Singh ‘Sonu’, MLA Yogesh Verma, MLA Shashank Verma (Nighasan), MLA Lokendra Pratap Singh, MLA Romi Sahni (Palia).
