Adani Electricity Offers Temporary Power Connections to Ganesh Pandals at Residential Rates

Mumbai, Sept 2026 : Adani Electricity has announced that it will support the upcoming Ganesh Festival celebrations in Mumbai by providing temporary electricity connections to Ganesh pandals at residential electricity rates.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring that Ganesh pandals across the city have access to a reliable power supply throughout the festive period. According to the company, organisers can receive temporary electricity connections within 48 hours of submitting their applications.

"By offering reliable temporary electricity connections for Ganesh Pandals, we aim to ensure the festival's spirit is celebrated with uninterrupted power. This initiative reflects our dedication to serving our customers," an Adani Electricity spokesperson said.

Ganesh pandal organisers can apply for the temporary electricity supply by visiting the Adani Electricity website and navigating to the ‘New Connection’ section.

The company said it successfully provided uninterrupted electricity to more than 1,000 Ganesh pandals across Mumbai during last year's celebrations. It has made arrangements this year to speed up connection approvals and maintain a dependable power supply during the festival.

A dedicated Quick Response Team has also been strategically deployed across the city to respond promptly to electricity-related issues and ensure uninterrupted services during the celebrations.

Adani Electricity has also urged Ganesh pandal organisers to prioritise electrical safety and engage only authorised and licensed electrical contractors for wiring and installation work. The company said proper safety measures are essential to protect devotees and volunteers visiting the pandals.

As part of its preparations for the immersion festivities, Adani Electricity will also provide illumination through 2,958 floodlights at more than 167 idol immersion locations across the city.

The company has issued several safety guidelines for pandal organisers. They have been advised to ensure that electrical wiring is ready at the pandal before the connection is provided and that only authorised personnel are allowed to access the meter cabin.

Organisers should use standard wires and switches, install a single isolation point for emergencies, and securely insulate wiring using standard insulation tape. Clear access to meter cabins and switches must also be maintained, while the connected load should remain within the sanctioned limit.

The company has further advised organisers to keep a fire extinguisher with clear operating instructions near the meter cabin, display a danger board prominently and ensure proper earthing at the meter cabin.

Adani Electricity has cautioned pandals against using unauthorised extensions, taking direct power supply or creating unnecessary joints in electrical wiring. Organisers have also been asked not to block access to meter cabin entrances or exceed their sanctioned load.

The company said public access should also be restricted around floodlights, pedestals, fans and insulated electrical joints to minimise the risk of accidents.

With Mumbai preparing for large-scale Ganesh Festival celebrations, the electricity provider said its measures are intended to combine uninterrupted power supply with enhanced safety for devotees, organisers and visitors.
