IOCL Has Launched A Modern 10 Kg Composite LPG Cylinder Indane Xtralite Now In Manipur.

Imphal; September 2026: India’s oil major Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) yesterday (Friday – 11th September 2026) has unveiled a modern 10 Kg composite LPG cylinder named as Indane Xtralite Now .

Amarjyoti Bordoloi, Chief General Manager (LPG), IOCL, IOAOD launched the LPG cylinder in Imphal alongside Indane Divisional Office, Silchar Divisional LPG Sales Head Rajjyoti Das, CAF&PD OSD (POL) Haobam Bobby, Sekmai Bottling Plant DGM Kshetrimayum Summer and many officials of IOCL and LPG distributors were present at the launch function.

Speaking at the occasion, Amarjyoti Bordoloi said that the price of a full Indane Xtralite Now cylinder is Rs 5004 and refill charge is Rs 1818. There will be a discount of Rs 250 on Indane Xtralite Now cylinder if new connections for the same cylinder type is made within December 2026. There will also be a discount of Rs 200 on every refill ordered within December 2026, he said.

Following the war in the Middle East, IOCL has been importing 69% of the country's LPG requirement from alternative sources. During the height of the war in the Middle East, the Government of India incurred huge losses in ensuring LPG to consumers.

The exchequer incurred a loss of Rs 269 crore in distributing 26 lakh LPG cylinders to consumers, he said. Notwithstanding this huge loss, the IOCL took up several steps to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply to consumers, Amarjyoti Bordoloi said. Even though the situation is said to be steadily returning to normalcy, IOCL has been purchasing domestic LPG cylinders at Rs 1500 each even though it normally costs Rs 1000, he said.

The price of a non-domestic filled LPG cylinder has reached Rs 3300 .

On account of the drastic decline in the volume of LPG import, IOCL is currently suspending all new LPG connections, Amarjyoti Bordoloi said.

At present, LPG consumers in rural areas are allowed to book for new refills after a gap of 45 days while those in urban areas are allowed to make refill bookings after a gap of 25 days, he said. He said that 20% to 25% of the State's total LPG consumers cannot furnish Delivery Authentication Codes (DAC). As such, these consumers are using commercial cylinders, he said.

Amarjyoti Bordoloi said that the 10 Kg composite cylinder has been launched in view of the growing number of commercial LPG cylinder users across the country. He said that Manipur is the last State in India to launch the 10 Kg LPG cylinder.

According to Amarjyoti Bordoloi, an LPG distributor in Manipur gets a commission of Rs 74 on a domestic LPG cylinder and Rs 138 on a commercial cylinder. Henceforth, LPG distributors will get a commission of Rs 180 for the new 10 Kg cylinder, he said.

Indane Xtralite Now is a free trade LPG product and it will be available through India Oil's Indane distributor network and select Indian Oil retail outlets. For Indane Xtralite Now connection, there is no requirement for ID proof, address proof or existing connection.

This 10 Kg LPG cylinder will be delivered within four hours of booking. The new cylinder features a translucent body for easy LPG level monitoring.
