Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid a courtesy visit to Shri Abdulla Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Expo Centre Sharjah, during the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Congress-2026) held in the United Arab Emirates. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral business relations between Madhya Pradesh and Sharjah and exploring investment opportunities across various sectors. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav invited Shri Al Owais to participate in the Global Investors Summit (GIS-2027) to be held in Madhya Pradesh next year.
Proposal for Business Delegation and B2B Forum
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised the importance of establishing a structured and strategic economic partnership with the Sharjah Chamber. He urged Chairman Shri Owais to lead a high-level business delegation to Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister also proposed a Madhya Pradesh–Sharjah Business Forum to facilitate sector-specific B2B meetings between entrepreneurs from the two regions.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged the Sharjah Chamber to help connect MSMEs and exporters from Madhya Pradesh with leading buyers and distributors across the Gulf countries. Leading companies from Sharjah were invited to invest in the state's food parks, cold-chain infrastructure, logistics, textiles, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy and tourism projects.
Investor-Friendly Policies and Robust Infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a leading investment destination in the country, supported by its strategic central location, competitive costs, vast industrial land bank, world-class infrastructure and excellent connectivity to major markets across India. He said the state government is providing comprehensive support to investors through transparent policies, a swift single-window system and an industry-friendly business environment. The Chief Minister added that Sharjah's extensive business network and connectivity could prove to be a milestone in promoting exports of local products from Madhya Pradesh, enhancing skills, generating employment and facilitating technology transfer.
Strong Sharjah-India Economic Relations
Trade relations between Sharjah and India are supported by the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The Sharjah Chamber has organised trade missions and business forums in India, including in Mumbai, covering sectors such as manufacturing, textiles, jewellery, SMEs, technology, energy, logistics, food industries, tourism and real estate.
Shri Abdulla Sultan Al Owais has been serving as Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Expo Centre Sharjah since May 2014. He is also Vice Chairman of the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Shri Owais has extensive leadership experience across government, industry, banking, food production, education, agriculture and bilateral business institutions.
CM Dr. Yadav Explores Sharjah’s Development Journey
During his meeting with Shri Abdulla Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Expo Centre Sharjah, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also learned about Sharjah’s remarkable development journey. Shri Al Owais briefed the Chief Minister on Sharjah’s progressive transformation from 1974 to the present, through an exhibition at the Exhibition Hall of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The exhibition showcased Sharjah’s development over the decades in detail.
