Two-Shift Arrangements Made for Training of Polling Parties and Distribution of Election Material
Polling to Be Held at 2,256 Polling Stations Across 150 Wards; 24.18 Lakh Voters to Exercise Their Franchise
Jaipur, September 2026: Polling for the 2026 Urban Local Body General Elections in 150 wards of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation will be held on September 11, 2026, from 7 am to 6 pm.
Polling parties will depart on Thursday, September 10, in two shifts at 7 am and 11 am. As per the arrangements finalised by District Election Officer (Municipal) Sandesh Nayak, polling parties will leave from Shri Bhawani Niketan College of Pharmacy, Sikar Road, Jaipur. The arrangements have been made to facilitate the departure of polling parties, their training and distribution of election materials.
A total of 2,256 polling stations have been designated across the 150 wards of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation. These include 2,204 main polling stations and 52 auxiliary polling stations. A total of 24,18,264 voters will be eligible to exercise their franchise, comprising 12,56,187 male, 11,61,986 female and 91 other voters. A total of 827 polling buildings have been designated for the polling stations.
Constituency-wise, Vidyadhar Nagar has 22 wards, 298 polling stations and 3,59,546 voters; Jhotwara has 15 wards, 243 polling stations and 2,42,645 voters; Sanganer has 21 wards, 329 polling stations and 3,66,775 voters; and Bagru has 14 wards, 264 polling stations and 2,62,457 voters.
Similarly, Malviya Nagar has 15 wards, 192 polling stations and 1,99,530 voters; Civil Lines has 16 wards, 234 polling stations and 2,44,853 voters; Kishanpole has 12 wards, 176 polling stations and 1,94,478 voters; Adarsh Nagar has 17 wards, 237 polling stations and 2,35,822 voters; Hawa Mahal has 15 wards, 241 polling stations and 2,64,605 voters; while Amer has three wards, 42 polling stations and 47,553 voters.
In the first shift at 7 am, polling parties for Bagru, Sanganer, Vidyadhar Nagar, Jhotwara and Hawa Mahal constituencies will depart. In the second shift at 11 am, polling parties for Malviya Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, Kishanpole, Civil Lines and Amer constituencies will leave for their respective polling stations.
A total of five test/training centres have been designated for the training of polling parties and distribution of election material. Test Centre No. 1 has been assigned to Bagru and Malviya Nagar; Test Centre No. 2 to Sanganer and Adarsh Nagar; Test Centre No. 3 to Vidyadhar Nagar and Kishanpole; Test Centre No. 4 to Jhotwara and Civil Lines; and Test Centre No. 5 to Hawa Mahal and Amer.
Separate vehicle parking arrangements have also been made for the convenience of polling parties. Parking No. 4 has been designated for Bagru, Parking No. 3 for Malviya Nagar, Parking No. 2 for Sanganer and Parking No. 3 for Adarsh Nagar. Polling parties for Vidyadhar Nagar, Kishanpole, Jhotwara, Civil Lines, Hawa Mahal and Amer will use Parking No. 1, located opposite the ITI College.
Separate arrangements have been made at the designated venue for the seating of polling parties, training and collection of election materials. Officials from the concerned cells and ERO/RO staff have been deployed for the distribution of election materials. Polling parties will receive all necessary materials as per the prescribed procedure and, after collecting them, will proceed to their respective polling stations.
District Election Officer (Municipal) Sandesh Nayak has directed officials to ensure that arrangements for training, distribution of election materials, vehicles, parking and other necessary facilities are completed in a timely manner during the departure of polling parties.
He emphasised that all arrangements should be made to ensure that the polling process is conducted in a free, fair, smooth and organised manner.
