Madhya Pradesh Sets New Record in Wheat Procurement: CM Dr. Yadav

Bhopal, May 2026 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the State Government has achieved all its targets in wheat procurement this year and created a new record. So far, a record 104 Lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured from farmers in state. The State Government provided wheat-producing farmers benefit of minimum support price of Rs 2585 and bonus of Rs 40 per quintal. Farmers were paid Rs 2625 per quintal for wheat. So far, Rs 24,000 crore has been paid to farmers for wheat procurement. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav shared this information on Friday through a video message from Ujjain.

MP Becomes Leading State in Farmer Participation in Procurement

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has become leading state in the country in terms of number of farmers from whom wheat has been procured. Wheat production has increased in state this year. Among states with highest wheat production in country, Madhya Pradesh stands second after Punjab. Madhya Pradesh is only state implementing wheat procurement arrangement for the longest duration.

Wheat Procured from All Registered Farmers Reaches Warehouses.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that wheat was first procured from small and medium-category farmers. This arrangement was implemented for the first time in state. So far, around 32.72 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured from small farmers. After this, large farmers got opportunity to sell their produce. So far, wheat procurement at support price has been completed from around 13.75 lakh farmers. Wheat belonging to all farmer brothers and sisters registered for government procurement has reached warehouses.

Under PM Shri Modi’s Leadership, Farmers’ Interests Remained Top Priority.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that despite war-like conditions in West Asia and adverse situations emerging globally, the State Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi kept interests of farmers as top priority. Even during this difficult period, record wheat procurement was carried out. The State Government is taking several welfare-oriented decisions for farmers. The entire year has been dedicated to farmer welfare for betterment of farmer brothers and sisters. Our commitment is that every farmer in state should become prosperous and happy, and farmers’ income should increase through animal husbandry, milk production, crop production and food processing.
