Chief Secretary Reviews Health Programs, Stresses Patient-Centric Care and Life-Saving Priority

Jaipur, January 2026:Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas said that the Medical and Health Department has introduced several innovative initiatives in recent times, including Ramashray Ward, Mission Liver Smile, Mission Madhuhari, Niramay Rajasthan and Pink Fortnight. These innovations are significant steps towards patient-centric healthcare services. He directed the department to ensure that the benefits of these initiatives reach the grassroots level and to realise the vision of Apno Swasth Rajasthan through a patient-centric approach. He emphasized that the foremost goal of every officer and employee associated with the Health Department should be the protection of life.

The Chief Secretary was addressing a review meeting after inspecting the Health Bhawan campus on Wednesday. Praising the Ramashray Ward initiative, which aims to provide respectful and convenient healthcare services to the elderly, he said such measures help reduce public distress and strengthen trust in the administrative system. He noted that the Central Government has selected Ramashray among major innovations implemented across the country, calling it a matter of pride for the state. He instructed officials to further expand the Ramashray Ward scheme.

Shri Srinivas directed officers to conduct regular field visits and inspect medical institutions. He stressed the need for real-time monitoring and analysis of health programs and schemes being implemented across the state to assess how many people are benefiting and what improvements are required. Emphasising the strengthening of maternal and child health services, he said that human resource deployment at healthcare institutions, especially at the grassroots level, should be carried out with proper planning so that quality services are available at every facility and existing resources are fully utilised. He instructed officials to identify medical institutions with high patient load and ensure the availability of human resources there on priority.

Describing the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana as a revolutionary initiative in the health sector, the Chief Secretary said that technology should be effectively utilised to ensure maximum benefits reach the people. He directed the creation of a monitoring dashboard containing complete details of beneficiaries. He also instructed that a higher number of decoy operations be conducted under the PCPNDT Act and laid special emphasis on making healthcare services more patient-centric to further improve health standards.

Earlier, the Chief Secretary inspected various offices in the Health Bhawan and directed that special attention be given to cleanliness in the building. He instructed officials to run a drive to remove unnecessary items from offices and dispose of them following due procedure. He emphasized that all officers and employees should be present in the office on time and discharge their duties with honesty and dedication to achieve the objective of better service delivery.

Principal Secretary, Medical and Health Department, Smt. Gayatri Rathore, informed that the department is continuously encouraging innovations to make health services more advanced and patient-centric. She said that recruitment has been carried out in mission mode in recent times, improving the availability of human resources at the grassroots level. She added that specialist doctors will soon be deployed as required, and more FRUs, Trauma Centres and CHCs will be made functional so that people do not have to travel to major cities for treatment. She assured that the Medical and Health Department will work with full commitment and dedication towards the goal of life protection.

Mission Director, National Health Mission, Dr. Amit Yadav; Additional Chief Executive Officer, Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency, Smt. Nidhi Patel; Director, Public Health, Dr. Ravi Prakash Sharma; and Director, RCH, Dr. Madhu Rateshwar, briefed the meeting on the progress of various health programs and schemes. Senior departmental officers and project directors of different health programs were also present on the occasion.
