Jaipur Chosen to Host BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting

Jaipur, February 2026 :Preparations for the first-ever meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) of the BRICS countries, to be held in Jaipur, were reviewed on Monday by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas at a meeting in the Secretariat. Senior officials from the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and the Reserve Bank of India were present.

The Chief Secretary said that hosting this significant international event in Jaipur is a matter of pride and good fortune for the state. He noted that the meeting would provide an important global platform to showcase Rajasthan’s culture, tourism potential, development initiatives, and administrative capabilities. He directed all departments to work in close coordination and complete preparations within stipulated timelines.

Reviewing the proposed programmes scheduled from March 4 to March 7, the Chief Secretary assessed arrangements related to ministerial meetings, arrival of delegations, accommodation, transportation, security, healthcare services, cultural programmes, sightseeing, and other logistical aspects.

He instructed officials to ensure smooth transportation for delegations, including pilot vehicles and route clearance wherever required. Strict security measures were directed at event venues, hotels, sightseeing locations, and along travel routes. Emphasis was laid on cleanliness, beautification, and maintenance of major city roads, venues, and tourist circuits. Under health arrangements, instructions were given to ensure round-the-clock medical teams, ambulances, availability of essential medicines, and coordination with nearby hospitals.

While reviewing preparations for the proposed visit and cultural programme at Amer Fort, the Chief Secretary said the event should reflect Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage, including folk dances, music, and traditions of hospitality, for the global audience. Directions were issued to arrange trained guides, parking facilities, and other necessary amenities. Discussions were also held on preparing souvenirs linked to the state’s art and handicrafts and providing tourism brochures to delegates. Instructions were given to appoint and train liaison officers for effective coordination with the visiting delegations.

The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Anu P. Mathai; Joint Secretary Amit Singla; Director Prakash Rajpurohit; Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources, Abhay Kumar; Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism and Public Works, Praveen Gupta; Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Bhaskar Atmaram Sawant; Principal Secretary, Medical and Health, Gayatri A. Rathore; Principal Secretary, Finance, Vaibhav Galaria; Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Dr. Debashish Prusti; Principal Secretary, General Administration, Naveen Jain; Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence); Police Commissioner, Jaipur; along with secretaries and senior officers from various departments.
