Chief Minister’s Ladki Bahini Yojana for Women’s Dignity and Prosperity
Nandurbar : The government has introduced the Chief Minister’s Ladki Bahini Yojana to enhance women’s dignity in society and within their families, as well as to boost their economic well-being. Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council, Neelam Gorhe, assured that just as ration grains have been consistently provided over the years, the financial benefits under the Ladki Bahini Yojana will continue to be deposited into the sisters’ accounts.
Speaking at the gathering for the Chief Minister’s Ladki Bahini Yojana in Soyrapada, Akkalkuwa, the Deputy Speaker highlighted the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment. Present at the event were Legislative Council Member MLA Amsha Padvi, State Women Commission Member Sangita Chavan, G.P. Social Welfare Chairman and Member Shankar Padvi, Sarpanchs, Panchayat Samiti Members, Zilla Parishad Members, People’s Representatives, and a large number of women.
Mrs. Gorhe emphasized that her work began with addressing women’s issues in tribal areas. She recognized women as embodiments of Lakshmi, Durga, and Saraswati, and reiterated the government’s dedication to their empowerment. She noted that the Daheli irrigation project had been stalled for many years, but the current government had taken action, approving canals that were previously neglected despite an investment of 422 crores on dams. As a result, 3,200 hectares in 26 villages will benefit from irrigation. Additionally, she promised to expedite the development of the Akkalkuwa Upazila Hospital to address health issues faced by women in the tribal areas, and she also expressed intentions to establish a high-quality taluka hospital in Khapar, along with efforts to create a sub-district hospital in Molgi.
Mrs. Gorhe compared the consistent provision of ration grains over the years to the continuous receipt of funds under the Ladki Bahini Yojana. She urged citizens to elect leaders who perform well in office. She also mentioned that roads in Nandurbar district would see significant improvements within the next six months. Addressing the issue of long queues in banks, she instructed the provision of separate lines for women and the availability of chairs for those waiting. She announced a contribution of two lakh rupees from her own funds to provide tea and breakfast for women standing in queues at banks.
MLA Amsha Padvi, who is actively working in the Legislative Council to advocate for the rights of tribal communities, expressed gratitude for the valuable guidance and support of Deputy Speaker Neelam Gorhe, noting that many schemes in the area had gained momentum and justice as a result.
During the event, checks were distributed to the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Majhi Ladki Bahini Yojana, benefiting women and sisters.
