MP and UP to Script New Chapter in Good Governance and Spiritual Tourism: CM Dr. Yadav
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a new chapter of development is being written in the country. The governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, imbibing the mantra of ‘Development with Heritage’, are developing a shared culture of good governance and religious tourism. This will not only strengthen relations between the two states but will also open new avenues for public welfare. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated this while visiting the world-renowned Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor in Varanasi.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav began his visit to Varanasi by offering prayers and performing rituals at the sacred shrine of Devadhidev Mahadev Shri Kashi Vishwanath Ji. He performed rituals in the sanctum sanctorum and prayed for the happiness and continued progress of the people of Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister also visited the holy Ganga ghats, where he offered prayers to the sacred Maa Ganga and performed achaman with Ganga water with deep devotion. After the prayers, he said that the spiritual peace experienced at the abode of Baba Vishwanath is truly extraordinary.
Shared Exchange of Arrangements Between Kashi and Mahakal
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav toured the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor during his visit to Varanasi on Tuesday. He said that an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is being undertaken to
strengthen administrative arrangements and facilitate the exchange of information between the shrines of Baba Vishwanath in Varanasi and Baba Mahakal in Ujjain. The main objective of this initiative is to provide smoother and improved facilities for devotees. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also paid floral tribute to the statue of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar in the temple premises.
Management Roadmap for Simhastha–2028
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described the experiences of Varanasi as highly relevant for the upcoming Simhastha–2028 to be held in Ujjain. He held a meeting with the trustees of the
Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust and reviewed a presentation on pilgrim management at the corridor, including crowd management, darshan arrangements and the mobile app-based token system. He said that lessons from the management of the Prayagraj Kumbh and the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor are helping in preparing long-term plans for devotees in Ujjain. The goal is to provide the highest level of convenience and accessibility for pilgrims during darshan.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also reviewed the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for managing pilgrimage sites through the presentation. Discussions were held on real-time CCTV monitoring, zone-based crowd control, security protocols and modern sanitation management systems. On the occasion, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust presented the book ‘Global Sanatan’ to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.
Grand Theatrical Presentation of Samrat Vikramaditya in Varanasi
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that a grand theatrical production depicting the good governance and justice of Samrat Vikramaditya of Ujjain will be staged in Varanasi from April 3 to 5. Organised by the Samrat Vikramaditya Research Institute, the presentation will feature hundreds of artists and showcase vivid depictions of ancient traditions, including performances with elephants, horses and camels. The Chief Minister also highlighted the growing economic and infrastructure cooperation between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. He said that the Ken–Betwa Link Project is transforming the lives of farmers in both states and will ensure an affordable and uninterrupted electricity supply for them.
During the visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and the subsequent meeting, Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Shri Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, MSME Minister Shri Rakesh Sachan, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Raghvendra Singh, Tourism Secretary Dr. Ilaiya Raja T, Ujjain Divisional Commissioner Shri Ashish Singh, Varanasi Collector Shri Satyendra Singh, CEO of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust Shri Vishwabhushan Mishra, along with other senior officials, were present.
