Saitual District Level Committee Holds First Meeting on Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)
Saitual : The first meeting of the Saitual District Level Committee on the Centrally Sponsored Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), was held today under the chairmanship of Dr. Lalngura Tlau at the DC Conference Room, Saitual.
During the meeting, it was announced that 25 out of 482 applicants from across the district who applied for fish farming assistance under the PMMSY for the year 2023-2024 have been approved. The district has been allotted 5 hectares of land, with each of the 25 selected beneficiaries receiving 0.2 hectares (2000 sq.m) of assistance.
Committee Chairman Dr. Lalngura Tlau expressed gratitude for the benefits brought by central schemes to the people. He, however, noted the disappointment that many do not fully utilize these opportunities as intended. He urged the selected beneficiaries to ensure proper use of the resources and called on the department to closely monitor the implementation.
Today’s meeting was attended by key officials, including Pi Zomuansangi, DFDO (Member Secretary), Pi PC Zonuntluangi, PD, DRDO, Pu Robert Zosangliana, Manager, Lead District Manager, Serchhip, along with representatives from various line departments and prominent citizens from each constituency.
