Mumbai – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Labor Minister Dr. Suresh Khade, inaugurated the Taluka Worker Facilitation Centers (Setu) today. These centers, established at the taluka level across the state, are designed to provide a range of services under one roof, including registration and renewal for the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The inauguration was conducted through a televised system, and an information booklet for the convenience of construction workers was also released during the event.
The ceremony, held in the Committee Hall after the Cabinet meeting, was attended by Ministers Dadaji Bhuse, Sanjay Rathod, Atul Save, Chief Secretary Mrs. Sujata Saunik, Principal Secretary of the Labor Department Mrs. Vinita Ved-Singhal, and Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Vivek Kumbhar.
Principal Secretary Mrs. Ved-Singhal provided details about the Setu Centers. These centers will allow construction workers to submit applications and original documents for registration, renewal, and benefit distribution. They will also help resolve workers’ issues. So far, the Board has established 42 Labor Welfare Centers at the district level across the state. In addition to these, 358 labor welfare centers are being launched at the taluka level. This initiative will simplify the process of registration, renewal, and benefit application for workers, saving them both time and money. All board services will be available under one roof, and each center will be staffed by a manager, three data entry operators, and helpers.
