Shrimad Bhagwat Katha explains the mysteries of truth and life: CM Yogi Adityanath

Gorakhpur : Chief Minister and Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath remarked on Saturday that the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran narrates a ‘katha’ that reveals the mysteries of truth and life.

“It is a ‘katha’ that guides one toward the pinnacle of success and the ultimate truth of existence. Our daily, familial, social, and practical experiences seem to revolve around the teachings of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha,” he stated.

The Chief Minister shared these thoughts during the inauguration of the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Katha Gyan Yagna at Gorakhnath Temple, marking the 55th death anniversary of Yugpurush Brahmaleen Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj and the 10th death anniversary of Rashtrasant Brahmaleen Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj.

Addressing devotees after offering prayers to the Vyaspeeth in the Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan auditorium, he referred to the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran as a book of salvation. “Salvation is not merely about liberation from life. The Mokshadayi Bhagwat Katha teaches how one can master their field, understand its intricacies, and attain the highest level of success,” he explained.

CM Yogi further noted that the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and the stories surrounding the leelas of Lord Shri Ram are deeply revered by the followers of Sanatan Dharma. He emphasized that the influence of Shri Ram and Shri Krishna, the two deities of Sanatan Dharma, is unparalleled across the world.

He noted that even in today’s busy times, devotees continue the tradition of dedicating hours to the ‘katha’ throughout the week. The Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran also provides a meaningful opportunity to reflect on our heritage and past.

“One can only imagine the challenges Ved Vyas Ji faced during the time of the Mahabharata. He composed the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran for mental peace,” the Chief Minister said, adding that the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, composed 5,200 years ago by Ved Vyas Ji, has been a guiding light for followers of Sanatan Dharma, shaping the course of their lives.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that salvation is not something that can be achieved instantly. To attain it, one must earn a living through ethical means, adhering to religious principles. By following this righteous path, if one’s desires are fulfilled, the journey towards salvation becomes successful.

He explained that the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha reveals this secret of attaining salvation. While the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran narrates the divine acts (leela) of Lord Shri Krishna, its language, crafted by Ved Vyas Ji, unfolds the mysteries of life, the values of Sanatan Dharma, and the principles of progress.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that in Sanatan Dharma, there is a firm belief that religion is much more than a method of worship as it may vary from person to person.

The Chief Minister further remarked that only a religion as vast as Sanatan Dharma can face life’s highs and lows with equanimity. The expansiveness of Sanatan has remained steadfast through all challenges and changes.

Following the Chief Minister’s address, devotees experienced the Shrimad Bhagwat Kathapresented by the Katha Vyas, Jagadguru Anantanand Dwaracharya Kashipeethadhiswar Swami Dr. Ram Kamal Das Vedanti Ji, who traveled from Shri Ram Mandir Gurudham Kashi. The katha will take place daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will conclude on September 20.

Before the commencement of Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Katha Gyan Yagya, under the leadership of Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath, Mahapuran’s ‘pothi shobhayatra’ was taken out from the main temple to the Katha Sthal amidst band music, conch sound and chanting of Vedic hymns by Vedpathi students.

On reaching the Katha Sthal, Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath established the Akhand Jyoti. After the book consecration and the seating of the Katha Vyas, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other Yajamans worshipped the Vyaspeeth.

On this occasion, Chief Priest of Gorakhnath Temple Yogi Kamalnath, Mahant Suresh Das of Digambar Akhara Ayodhya, Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das alias Satua Baba from Kashi, Mahant Awadhesh Das of Bade Bhaktmal Ayodhya, Mahant Sutikshan Das of Sudama Kuti Vrindavan, Mahant Ravindra Das of Kalibari, Panchanan Puri, MLA Vipin Singh, Mahendrapal Singh, former Mayor Sitaram Jaiswal along with Yajamans and a large number of devotees were present.
