Mizoram State Policy Coordination Committee Review Meeting Held To Evaluate Bana Kaih Scheme Progress

Aizawl : Today, a review meeting of the Mizoram State Policy Coordination Committee was held at the Planning & Program Implementation Department Conference Hall in Aizawl. The meeting was chaired by Pu KC Lalmalsawmzauva, Adviser to the Chief Minister and Vice Chairman of the MSPCC. Representatives from 16 departments participated in the meeting, including Nodal Officers and Assistant Nodal Officers responsible for implementing the ‘Bana Kaih Scheme.’ It was reported that 1,314 applications have been submitted through the Bana Kaih Scheme portal.

Pu KC Lalmalsawmzauva emphasized the need for thorough scrutiny of the submitted applications and encouraged the officials to assist applicants effectively. He urged the Nodal Department staff to overcome any obstacles and streamline the application process. Additionally, he instructed the Nodal Officers to ensure continued support for applicants facing challenges during the process.

Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary of the Planning & Program Implementation Department, announced that the Apex Body would review the first batch of submitted applications on November 21, following an initial assessment by the Nodal Officers. During November, selected Progress Partners will be trained to assist with implementation, and the departments will facilitate the loan applications for Progress Partners in December. By January 2025, Progress Partners are expected to be fully prepared to begin their tasks. The selection of Progress Partners will continue on a monthly basis.

It was reported in the meeting that, as of today, a total of 1,314 applications have been submitted through the Bana Kaih Scheme portal. The Commerce & Industries Department received the most applications, with 540, followed by the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, which received 409. Out of these, 1,292 applications were submitted by individuals, while 22 came from organizations. Besides reviewing the departments’ progress, the meeting also addressed issues such as incorrect applications and the need for enhancements to the Bana Kaih Scheme portal to make the process more user-friendly.
