Call for Proposals for ‘Media Awards 2024’ by the Election Commission of India
Mumbai : The Election Commission of India has invited proposals from media organizations for the Media Awards 2024, recognizing exceptional work in voter education and public awareness during 2024. The awards will be presented in four categories: Print Media, Television (Electronic Media), Radio (Electronic Media), and Online/Social Media, as informed by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
Proposals must be submitted by December 10, 2024, to Rajesh Kumar Singh, Under Secretary (Communication), Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, Ashoka Road, New Delhi 110001. Email: media-division@eci.gov.in; Phone: 011-23052131. Proposals can be submitted in English or Hindi. Submissions in other languages must include an English translation. The final decision on the awards will rest with the selection committee. The proposals should include the applicant’s full name, media organization details, address, contact number, and email ID.
The awards aim to honor media contributions that promote electoral awareness, educate the public about the election process, and highlight the relevance of voting and registration. This includes stories on election technology, innovative polling stations, and public awareness campaigns encouraging voter participation.
Eligibility and Criteria
The submissions should feature news, publications, or broadcasts disseminated during 2024. A summary of the work, including the number of articles or stories, the total size of print materials (measured in square centimeters), and relevant links or PDFs, must be included. Full-sized clippings or hard copies of published materials should be submitted for evaluation.
- Print Media: Articles or reports must be accompanied by PDF copies and details about the publication’s classification or circulation certified by the ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations).
- Electronic Media: Television and radio broadcasts must be submitted on a pen drive, detailing broadcast times, success stories, and special voter awareness programs conducted. Information about the duration and frequency of these broadcasts, along with the total airtime, should be provided.
- Social Media: Content such as blogs, campaigns, tweets, or articles should be submitted in PDF or soft copy format, with details of broadcast links and additional awareness initiatives undertaken.
Selected awardees will be honored on National Voters’ Day, January 25, 2025, as per the communication from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
