Iran’s Supreme Leader Warns of ‘Crushing Response’ to US and Israel
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has issued a stern warning to both Israel and the United States, asserting that they will face a strong response for their actions against Iran and the wider Resistance Front. Speaking before a group of students in Tehran, Khamenei stressed that these countries would be “punished” for their aggressive actions in West Asia. He affirmed that Iran is fully equipped to counter what he termed as “global arrogance” through military, political, and other methods. Khamenei emphasized that the response would be memorable and firmly rooted in Iran’s commitment to defend its sovereignty and regional allies.
Khamenei also criticized recent Israeli actions in Gaza and Lebanon, arguing that the United States’ support for these attacks revealed a “double standard” in its stance on human rights. The Supreme Leader called on the Iranian people to stand firmly against these global adversaries without hesitation. His remarks were partly in response to recent Israeli airstrikes on Iran, which Israel claimed were in retaliation to Iranian actions. Iran’s Air Defense reported that it effectively intercepted these strikes, resulting in only minor damage.
Iran and Israel have long-standing hostilities, which escalated after recent regional conflicts. Tensions intensified with Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel, and subsequent conflicts between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in Lebanon. A recent cross-border attack further strained relations, injuring several civilians in the central Israeli city of Tira.

He described Israel’s actions as “aggression” and condemned them as “clear violations of international law.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has condemned recent Israeli strikes, labeling them a breach of both international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly with regard to respecting territorial integrity. Iran remains committed to safeguarding its national security while recognizing its obligations toward maintaining regional peace and stability.
