Union Minister of Environment, Climate Change & Forests and State Minister of Forests Inaugurate MP Sports Festival

Jaipur : The Alwar MP and Union Minister for Environment, Climate Change, and Forests, Shri Bhupender Yadav, inaugurated the Alwar MP Sports Festival on Thursday by cutting the ribbon and releasing balloons at RPS International School in Behror, Rath International School in Neemrana, and SS Cricket Academy in Bhiwadi. Simultaneously, the Minister of State for Environment and Forests (Independent Charge), Shri Sanjay Sharma, inaugurated the festival at RR College in Alwar city.

Union Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav interacted with players from the cricket teams participating in the competition and encouraged them. He initiated the event by tossing the coin for the first match between the two opening teams of the Behror block.

He highlighted that the Alwar MP Sports Festival is being organized under the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to promote sports talent. The festival includes two phases of sports competitions within the district. The first phase focuses on cricket, while the second phase will feature Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Wrestling, and Basketball tournaments.

The organizational finals for Alwar North and Alwar South are scheduled for February 7, 8, and 9 in Alwar. The Minister shared that the competition has commenced across ten grounds, with registrations from 340 teams, including 34 girls’ teams, involving nearly 4,000 children in cricket and approximately 6,000 participants across other sports. A total of 10,000 children are expected to participate with great enthusiasm.

He also announced that the winning teams would receive prizes, and selected players would undergo professional training. Summer sports camps will be organized to further cultivate interest in sports among youth.

Minister of State Shri Sanjay Sharma, during the inauguration at RR College, praised the initiative of the MP Sports Festival inspired by the Khelo India campaign of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He emphasized that sports strengthen both physical and mental health and provide a platform for players to showcase their talent and receive encouragement. He urged the public to participate in the event and contribute to its success by demonstrating their sporting skills.

The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including District Chief Shri Balbir Chhillar, Behror MLA Dr. Jaswant Yadav, former MLA Shri Manjeet Dharmpal Choudhary, Municipal Council Chairman Shri Sitaram Yadav, and other prominent personalities such as Smt. Saroj Yadav, Shri Ashok Gupta, Shri Mohit Yadav, Shri Sanjay Naruka, Pandit Jalesingh, Shri Rishiraj Singhal, Anjali Yadav, and Pragnya Yadav from V Shakti Foundation, along with many players.
