Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Launches Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana for Landless Labourers

“In line with the promise made to landless labourers in Chhattisgarh, another guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been fulfilled,” said Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. He was speaking at the launch of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana at the auditorium in the New Circuit House today.

Chief Minister explained that a large portion of the population in Chhattisgarh depends on agriculture, but many individuals lack agricultural land and earn their livelihood as agricultural labourers. “To support them, we had promised to provide financial assistance of Rs 10,000 annually to landless agricultural labourers. Today, we are fulfilling that promise,” he added.

A total of 5,62,112 beneficiaries across the state will benefit from this scheme, with a total financial assistance of nearly Rs 562.11 crore being distributed. The aim of this initiative is to provide financial support to landless agricultural labourer families by increasing their net income.

The scheme will benefit not only landless agricultural labourers but also landless families of forest produce collectors, livestock herders, carpenters, blacksmiths, cobblers, barbers, washermen, and those involved in the Pauni-Pasari system. Besides, families of Pujari, Baiga, Gunia, and Majhi—who worship at tribal temples in scheduled areas—have also been included in the scheme.

During the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai distributed cheques of Rs 10,000 to landless labourer beneficiaries. He stated that this historic step is a significant move towards fulfilling the resolution for the economic prosperity of landless labourer families in the state.

“This scheme will not only improve their economic condition but will also ensure better access to education, healthcare, and a brighter future for their children,” he said. “Our goal is to ensure that every poor and landless family in the state experiences happiness. This scheme will be a catalyst for positive change in their lives.”

Chief Minister Shri Sai pointed out that the state government has fulfilled most of the guarantees made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the people of Chhattisgarh in just one year. “In our first cabinet meeting, we approved the Pradhan Mantri Awas houses for 18 lakh needy families. Our government has also expanded the eligibility criteria for PM Awas. Now, families owning two-wheelers, two and a half acres of irrigated land, or five acres of non-irrigated land, with a monthly income of Rs 15,000, are also eligible for PM Awas,” he added.

He further mentioned that the state government has started the survey for the Awas Plus scheme, with the aim of ensuring that the benefits of good governance reach every citizen in Chhattisgarh. “Under Modi Ji’s guarantee, we have also fulfilled our promise of procuring 21 quintals of paddy per acre at the rate of Rs 3,100 per quintal,” he said.

Chief Minister noted that as farmers are now receiving the full price for their produce, many farmers who had abandoned agriculture are returning to the fields. “We have increased the rate of tendupatta collection from Rs 4,000 per standard sack to Rs 5,500 per standard sack, benefiting over 12.5 lakh beneficiaries in tribal areas,” he added.

He also highlighted that more than 70 lakh women in the state are benefiting from the monthly financial assistance provided under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, with a total of Rs 7,182 crore disbursed in 11 installments. “Through the Ramlala Ayodhya Dham Darshan Yojana, over 20,000 devotees from Chhattisgarh have visited Ayodhya for Darshan,” he added. “One by one, we are fulfilling every promise made under Modi Ji’s guarantee.”

“Our government is running welfare schemes for every section of society, ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach the intended beneficiaries,” said the Chief Minister. “Today, I am happy that our efforts are bringing smiles to the faces of the people and fulfilling our promises.”

Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, in his address, stated that Chhattisgarh has seen rapid development since the formation of the current government. “Under ‘Modi’s guarantee and Vishnu’s good governance’, our government is successfully implementing major schemes,” he said. “Our Chief Minister is making Deendayal Ji’s dreams come true.”

MLAs Shri Anuj Sharma, Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Sunil Soni, Guru Khushwant Saheb along with Acting Chief Secretary Renu Pillay, Revenue Secretary Smt. Shehla Nigar, and senior officials, employees, and beneficiaries from across the state were present at the event
