Discussion on Challenges in Building Institutional Mechanisms for Gender Equality on February 6

Mumbai : A discussion session on the challenges, obstacles, and operational methods in building institutional mechanisms for gender equality will be held on 6th February from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan. Dr. Neelam Gorhe, the Deputy Speaker, will be attending the session.

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Conference, a review of the action plans adopted by countries and states worldwide will be conducted by the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations in New York in March 2025. This discussion session is being organized in light of that.

The session will cover various topics, including women’s and girls’ health and reproductive rights, permanent procedures to prevent violence against women, the establishment of institutional frameworks through coordination of different government departments and public participation to promote gender equality, employment opportunities in urban areas, rural employment guarantee schemes, skill development programs, and Maharashtra’s fourth women’s policy.
