Chief Secretary Reviews Preparations for UP Board Exams 2025, Issues Key Directives
Lucknow – Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh reviewed the preparations for the UP Board Exams 2025 and issued essential directives to all divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and senior police officials via video conferencing.
In his address, the Chief Secretary stated that the UP Board’s High School and Intermediate exams are scheduled to take place from February 24 to March 12, 2025. The exams will be conducted across 8,140 centers, including 576 government schools, 3,446 aided schools, and 4,118 self-financed institutions. A total of 54,37,233 students will participate, with 27,32,216 High School students and 27,05,017 Intermediate students.
Strict Measures for Transparent and Fair Exams
The Chief Secretary emphasized the need for strict and transparent conduct of the board exams, ensuring that there is zero tolerance for cheating. He directed that all exam centers be thoroughly inspected beforehand to verify the availability of basic infrastructure and facilities.
Special Monitoring in Highly Sensitive Districts
Seventeen districts—Agra, Mathura, Baghpat, Aligarh, Mainpuri, Etah, Hardoi, Azamgarh, Ballia, Mau, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Deoria, and Gonda—have been classified as highly sensitive. Special vigilance will be maintained in these areas, with STF (Special Task Force) and LIU (Local Intelligence Unit) ensuring strict surveillance.
Ensuring Smooth Conduct of Exams
- Students should not face any difficulties in reaching exam centers on time.
- Regular bus services should be scheduled in accordance with exam timings.
- Unnecessary restrictions on students’ movement must be avoided.
- Use of loudspeakers near exam centers will be strictly prohibited.
- No unnecessary police announcements should be made near exam centers in Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Varanasi.
- Uninterrupted power supply must be ensured during exams.
Strict Action Against Malpractices
- Close monitoring of cheating mafias and anti-social elements will be conducted, with strict legal action taken against offenders.
- Exam strong rooms must be monitored 24/7 via CCTV, with armed security deployed.
- Sudden inspections of strong rooms will be carried out by special teams to ensure question paper security.
- Strict action against unauthorized printing, distribution, and spreading rumors on social media will be enforced.
- After the exam, answer sheets must be transported under police security to collection centers.
- Clean surroundings, first aid facilities, and other essential amenities at exam centers should be ensured.
New Measures for Fair & Cheating-Free Exams
Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar stated that several new measures have been introduced to ensure fair and cheating-free exams, including:
- Backup sets of question papers for all major subjects.
- Center-wise coding on question papers for better tracking.
- Online system for filing objections and complaints regarding exam center allotments.
- Geo-fencing attendance for examiners during practical exams.
- Online marks entry via mobile app and portal.
- Non-tearable and waterproof certificates with sunlight-reflective logos for authentication.
