GIS-Bhopal ushers in a new era of road infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly entering in a new era of development. The modern road infrastructure is set to connect every corner of the state, driving economic growth to new heights. On the first day of the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal, the government signed a historic MoU worth Rs 1 lakh crore with the National Highway Authority. This agreement will facilitate the construction and development of 4,010 km of road projects across the state, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a key logistics and infrastructure hub, not just for India but for all of South Asia.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that these agreements go beyond just road construction—they will serve as the foundation for economic development, industrial expansion, job creation, and an improved quality of life in the state. He said that a robust road network naturally fosters trade, investment, and industrial growth. ‘Our goal is to make Madhya Pradesh the most developed and modern state in India, and this agreement marks a significant step in that direction,’ he added.

Modern road projects that will shape the future of Madhya Pradesh

These historic MoUs signed at GIS-Bhopal will lead to the development of several important road projects. MoUs have been signed at GIS-Bhopal for strengthening road infrastructure. These include Indore-Bhopal Greenfield High-Speed Corridor, Bhopal-Jabalpur Greenfield High-Speed Corridor, Prayagraj-Jabalpur-Nagpur Corridor, Lakhnadaun-Raipur Expressway, Agra-Gwalior National Highway, Ujjain-Jhalawar National Highway, Indore Ring Road (Western and Eastern Bypass), Jabalpur-Damoh National Highway, Satna-Chitrakoot National Highway, Rewa-Sidhi National Highway and 4-lane bypass on the western edge of Gwalior city.

The new road projects will not only connect Madhya Pradesh to national and international trade routes but will also provide better connectivity between the major cities of the state. This will reduce travel time, reduce logistics and freight transport costs, and provide new opportunities to the agriculture, industry, tourism, and trade sectors.

Contribution to the Economic Development of the State

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the progress of any state depends on a strong infrastructure, an efficient transport system, and a robust economic model. These agreements will accelerate the transformation of Madhya Pradesh into a new industrial and economic hub. He emphasized that improved road networks would make it easier for industries to transport their products to markets, leading to the establishment of new industries and a surge in trade. Farmers will benefit as they can transport their produce to cities and markets faster, ensuring better prices. Additionally, enhanced connectivity will improve access to tourist destinations, giving a significant boost to the tourism industry. The project is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities. Engineers, labourers, technical experts, and local entrepreneurs will benefit during the construction phase. Furthermore, new road projects will stimulate growth in logistics, hospitality, and various other businesses.

Time Bound Project: Commitment to complete on time

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to the swift implementation and timely completion of these projects. He stated that all developments will adhere to world-class technology, sustainable construction practices, and the highest quality standards. To ensure efficiency, the government will extend full support to the National Highways Authority of India and other relevant departments, ensuring that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted that the government is actively promoting various infrastructure projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. This approach will not only accelerate project execution but also enhance transparency in implementation.

MP is the main centre of PM Shri Modi’s ‘Vikasit Bharat’ mission

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is rapidly progressing toward becoming a global infrastructure leader, with Madhya Pradesh set to play a central role in this vision. PM Shri Modi’s goal of making India a $5 trillion economy is strongly supported by the MoUs signed at GIS-Bhopal, marking a significant step in that direction. Once these projects are completed, Madhya Pradesh will rank among the states with the most modern and efficient transport networks in the country.

Vision of the future: Atmanirbhar and Vikasit Madhya Pradesh

A new era is unfolding in Madhya Pradesh with these historic MoUs, paving the way for a brighter future for every citizen of the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the government’s goal is to develop a fast, safe, and world-class road network, strengthen logistics and business opportunities, facilitate seamless transportation for industries, open new export routes, and create employment for lakhs of people through road construction. Additionally, these projects will provide essential infrastructure to ensure smooth and convenient travel for every citizen.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further emphasized that the government is committed to turning these plans into reality, ensuring that their impact extends beyond paper and reaches every village, every city, and every individual at the grassroots level.
