Investment of ₹515 Crore to Provide Employment for 1,000 People

Honorable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M.K. Stalin inaugurated the world-class production facility of Godrej Consumer Products at Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu.

Today (10.3.2025), in an event held at Kunnappattu village, Thiruporur Taluk, Chengalpattu district, Honorable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M.K. Stalin launched the new facility of Godrej Consumer Products, which has been set up with an investment of ₹515 crore, creating employment opportunities for 1,000 people. On this occasion, he also distributed appointment orders to men, women, and differently-abled individuals.

Tamil Nadu is a leading state in industrial development in India, excelling in manufacturing and exports in various sectors. The state is taking major steps to attract investments and generate employment, especially for women. The state government has set a goal of achieving economic growth of $1 trillion by 2030 and continues to implement various proactive measures to attract investments.

Women Empowerment & Employment Generation

The company has announced that 50% of the jobs in this facility will be allocated to women, transgenders, and differently-abled individuals. The production unit is designed to promote innovation and Industry 4.0 advancements and is recognized as a “Light House Factory.”

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this project was signed in August 2023 in the presence of the Honorable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. The foundation stone was laid in January 2024, following the Global Investors Meet. In just 13 months, the facility has been completed, and today, it has been officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
