Mahasamund: Women Moving from Financial Struggles to Empowerment

The Journey of Meena, Bhojbai, and Usha from Struggle to Self-Employment

Mahasamund : The Mahatari Vandan Yojana is transforming the lives of women, offering them not just financial support but also a path to self-reliance. This initiative has empowered many women by providing them with a steady income, allowing them to secure their families’ futures.

For Meena Vishwakarma from Jhalakhamharia village, this scheme has been nothing short of a blessing. Since February 2024, she has been receiving ₹1,000 per month, which she used to start a small vegetable vending business. Now, with increased earnings, she can comfortably meet her family’s needs. Calling the scheme her foundation for financial stability, Meena shares, “This initiative has given me new hope.”

Similarly, for Bhojbai Mongre from Boriyazhar, the scheme has been a lifeline. After her husband’s demise, she faced severe financial hardship. However, by saving her six-month assistance amount, she managed to open a small vegetable shop in March 2024. With a stable income now, she proudly says, “I am happy to be self-reliant, running my own business, and feeling empowered.”

Usha Sahu from Koundkera Gram Panchayat also utilized this financial aid wisely. She set up a vegetable stall and now earns ₹200 per day, enabling her to support her children’s education and household expenses. Overwhelmed with gratitude, she says, “The Mahatari Vandan Yojana has given my life a new direction. I am now self-sufficient and can take care of my family.”

Thanks to this scheme, women like Meena, Bhojbai, and Usha are shaping a better future for themselves. They express heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, whose initiative has illuminated the lives of thousands of women. The Mahatari Vandan Yojana has truly emerged as a beacon of hope for women’s economic empowerment.
