Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao Attends Mass Wedding, Extends Best Wishes to Newlyweds

192 Couples Tie the Knot Under the Chief Minister’s Mass Wedding Scheme

Raipur : A mass wedding ceremony was held today at Mungeli district headquarters under the Chief Minister’s Kanya Mass Wedding Scheme, where 192 couples were united in marriage following traditional rituals. The event, held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Mungeli, was marked by great enthusiasm, featuring a grand wedding procession with music and celebrations. Upon arrival at the venue, all grooms received a warm welcome.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, accompanied by his wife Smt. Meena Sao, attended the ceremony as the chief guest. He blessed the newlyweds and wished them a happy and prosperous married life. As part of the government’s support, each couple received a cheque of ₹35,000 and gifts worth ₹15,000. MLA Shri Punnulal Mohle also participated in the event.

Government’s Commitment to Supporting Poor Families

Addressing the gathering, Deputy CM Shri Arun Sao emphasized the government’s commitment to reducing the financial burden on underprivileged families. He highlighted that weddings and healthcare are two major expenses now being supported by the state. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ayushman Bharat Scheme, free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh is being provided. Additionally, the Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai-led government has strengthened the Kanya Vivah Yojana to assist economically weaker families. Shri Sao commended the district administration for successfully organizing the wedding ceremony and assured continued government support for the needy.

Encouraging Public Participation in Welfare Schemes

MLA Shri Punnulal Mohle extended his best wishes to the newlyweds and reiterated that under the Chief Minister’s Kanya Mass Wedding Scheme, each couple receives ₹35,000 in financial assistance along with gifts worth ₹15,000. He encouraged people to take full advantage of government schemes, emphasizing initiatives related to housing, healthcare, education, drinking water, electricity, and other basic needs.

The event witnessed the presence of Collector Shri Rahul Dev, Superintendent of Police Shri Bhojram Patel, Forest Divisional Officer Shri Sanjay Yadav, CEO of District Panchayat Shri Prabhakar Pandey, District Panchayat President Shri Shrikant Pandey, and Vice President Smt. Shanti Devcharan Bhaskar, along with several public representatives, families of the bride and groom, and other dignitaries.
