Madhya Pradesh Emerging as a Leading Tech Destination in IT, ITES, and ESDM Sectors
Madhya Pradesh has rapidly established itself as a major tech destination in India in recent years. The state has attracted significant investments in Information Technology (IT), IT-enabled Services (ITES), and Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) sectors, effectively translating investment commitments into tangible outcomes on the ground. Under the leadership of the Department of Science and Technology and the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC), the investment promotion team has played a pivotal role in driving this transformation. As a result, new employment opportunities have been created, and the technical infrastructure has been substantially strengthened.
The state’s two emerging technology hubs, Indore and Bhopal, have become focal points for investors in these sectors. Reputed companies such as LTI Mindtree, Panchshil Realty, and Cognizant have invested with confidence in IT and infrastructure development in Indore. Meanwhile, Bhopal is attracting investors in electronics manufacturing, knowledge process outsourcing (KPO), business process outsourcing (BPO), and data centres.

Additionally, Cognizant and Hexaware Technologies have strengthened the tech identity of Indore and Bhopal with investments of Rs 80 crore and Rs 50 crore, respectively, in the KPO and BPO sectors.
Indore is continually evolving into a centre of innovation. The establishment of Drishti CPS Foundation at IIT Indore is a key step in promoting research and entrepreneurship. Madhya Pradesh is steadily building an environment conducive to technological advancement and a vibrant startup ecosystem.

Bhopal’s strategic location has particularly attracted investors in electronics manufacturing and data centres. Kaynes Technology has invested Rs 352 crore, generating over 2,000 jobs. Ctrl-S, a major data centre company, has made a significant contribution by investing Rs 500 crore, thereby strengthening the state’s digital infrastructure. In addition, IT/ITES company Xebia has also invested in Bhopal, creating new employment opportunities for local youth.
The joint efforts of the Department of Science & Technology and MPSEDC have played a critical role in realising these investments. The department’s active engagement in policy implementation, infrastructure development, and industry collaboration has transformed Madhya Pradesh from a potential destination into a real and thriving hub for IT, ITES, and ESDM.
With its progressive policy framework, growing skilled talent pool, and commitment to digital transformation, Madhya Pradesh is scripting a new success story—one that is poised to redefine growth and development in these high-potential sectors.
