Kalyan-Dombivli Will Be Transformed Through Cleanliness – Deputy CM Eknath Shinde

Thane : The dream of Kalyan-Dombivli residents is to see their city clean and beautiful, and through this unique cleanliness initiative, the face of Kalyan-Dombivli will certainly be transformed, said Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today.

He was speaking at the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of various initiatives held at the Sawalaram Sports Complex in Dombivli. The event was presided over by Deputy CM and Guardian Minister of Thane district, Eknath Shinde.

Also present were Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, MLAs Ravindra Chavan, Sulbha Tai Gaikwad, Rajesh More, Municipal Commissioner Abhinav Goyal, Thane Police Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbre, Deputy Commissioner of Police Atul Zende (Zone 3), various dignitaries, former municipal members, officials, and a large number of citizens.

Citing the words “Where there is cleanliness, there is health,” Shinde recalled how Prime Minister Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and how he himself initiated the Deep Clean Drive during his term as CM. He extended his best wishes to the new cleanliness initiative and assured the public that there will be no shortage of funds for development, while praising the citizen-centric nature of the newly inaugurated projects.

MLA Ravindra Chavan appealed to the citizens to maintain cleanliness and actively participate in the city’s upkeep, emphasizing the importance of community involvement.

MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde highlighted the necessity of a robust system to meet the needs of Kalyan-Dombivli’s growing population. He noted that this new solid waste management initiative also aims to generate employment by involving municipal workers in the process. He further shared that the state government has always supported the development of major projects in the Kalyan region and that an elevated stadium will soon be established at the Sawalaram Sports Complex.

Municipal Commissioner Abhinav Goyal provided a concise overview of the newly inaugurated projects and emphasized the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation’s commitment to holistic development with the support of its citizens.

Today’s program included the launch of several initiatives such as a solid waste collection, transport, and road cleanliness project; distribution of cheques to retired transport employees; allocation of apartments to Ring Road project-affected beneficiaries under the rehabilitation policy; distribution of keys to those affected by the MUTP project; online inauguration of a solar-powered park in Titwala (East); online foundation laying for Khambalpada Sports Complex; and handover of vehicles to the Damini Squad in Zone 3.

The event concluded with dignitaries flagging off the newly launched vehicles for the cleanliness campaign.
