Summer camp inaugurated: A meaningful initiative towards innovation, creativity, and personality development
Lucknow : Director General of School Education, Uttar Pradesh, Mrs. Kanchan Verma kicked off Summer Camp 2025 across the state from Upper Primary School, Hardhaurpur (BKT, Lucknow), on a grand note on Wednesday. She also interacted with students and appreciated their creative activities.
On the first day of the camp, students across the state participated with great enthusiasm. Engaging activities like ‘Self-Introduction’, ‘I am a Star’, and ‘I am a Writer Too’ provided a platform for students to express their creativity and boost their confidence. Sessions such as yoga, health talks, storytelling, and music sharing infused fresh energy among the children.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Kanchan Verma said,
“This summer camp is a commendable initiative by the state government aimed at the holistic development of children. It not only goes beyond textbooks but also connects students with life skills and creativity.”
In the upcoming sessions, students will engage in digital literacy, traditional arts and crafts, environmental awareness, sports, and leadership-building activities. These activities are designed to support their mental, physical, and emotional growth while preparing them for the future.
The camp will conclude on June 10, 2025, with a special closing ceremony where students will share their experiences. Those who perform exceptionally will be awarded certificates and prizes.
A glimpse of the upcoming days
The forthcoming sessions will focus on balanced programs that enhance students’ mental, emotional, and physical development. Through digital literacy sessions, students will gain hands-on experience with app development, AI tools, and essential digital skills like using email.
Blend of art, culture, and sports
Creative talents will be nurtured through cultural activities such as paper mache, clay modeling, mehendi design, rangoli, folk dance, folk songs, and musical performances.
In sports, activities like one-leg race, lemon race, kabaddi, volleyball, and cricket will instill values like discipline, teamwork, and physical agility.
Focus on green initiatives
Workshops and activities will also be held on environmental protection, gardening, water conservation, and promoting greenery, encouraging children to become responsible and eco-conscious citizens.
