Maharashtra Keen to Strengthen Cordial Relations with Egypt – Protocol Minister Jaykumar Rawal
Mumbai : Maharashtra shares decades-old cordial relations with Egypt and is eager to further strengthen these ties, stated Protocol Minister Jaykumar Rawal.
Egypt’s Consul General, Ms. Dahila Tawakkol, called on Minister Rawal today. Principal Secretary of the Marketing Department, Pravin Darade, was also present during the meeting.
Minister Rawal said that Maharashtra is a powerhouse of India and plays a significant role in the country’s emergence as the fourth-largest economy in the world. The state produces agricultural goods on a large scale, presenting vast opportunities for the food processing industry. He welcomed potential investments from Egyptian entrepreneurs in Maharashtra. He added that the state is home to a wide variety of tourist destinations, and given the growing emphasis on safe travel, Maharashtra is becoming an increasingly preferred destination for tourists.
Consul General Dahila Tawakkol shared insights about Egypt and lauded Maharashtra for its commendable performance across various sectors. She expressed that a high-level delegation from Egypt is interested in visiting Maharashtra to explore potential opportunities in investment and trade between the two regions.
