Review Meeting Held Under Chairmanship of Union Health Minister

Jaipur : Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, health services across the country are continuously expanding. Strengthening medical infrastructure in Rajasthan remains a top priority for both the Central Government and the Ministry of Health. Significant efforts under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma are turning the vision of a “Healthy Rajasthan” into a reality. His time-bound decisions in public health have started showing positive outcomes.

Shri Nadda was addressing a review meeting of the Medical and Health Department at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday. He praised the progress made in central and state government health schemes in Rajasthan. Emphasizing that medical service is a crucial means of serving humanity, he urged officials, doctors, and health workers to diligently fulfill their responsibilities. He assured that all issues related to the state will be addressed positively and promptly at the ministry level.

The Union Minister instructed department officials to regularly monitor schemes, raise awareness about diseases among students, and give special attention to cancer treatment. He highlighted that the Health Ministry has established a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Cell and encouraged the state government to submit proposals for healthcare expansion, which would be reviewed and implemented by the ministry. He also emphasized scaling up eye care programs already operational under central schemes.

Shri Nadda urged for timely utilization of budget allocated under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, to ensure better treatment for patients. He also stressed the need to spread awareness about non-communicable diseases and reviewed the progress of several national health initiatives including the National Health Mission, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, National Tuberculosis Elimination Program, Health Insurance Schemes, and projects funded by the 15th Finance Commission. He gave specific guidelines to ensure effective implementation.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma thanked the Union Health Minister for his cooperation in strengthening both medical services and medical education in the state. He said that Rajasthan has secured a leading position in implementing the Janani Suraksha Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. A special health campaign, Niramay Rajasthan, was launched on World Health Day, and under the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana, 1.34 crore families are receiving cashless treatment up to ₹25 lakhs. Additionally, a ₹15,000 crore Health Infrastructure Mission has been initiated for various construction projects. Over 11,655 medical institutions have been converted into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.

CM Sharma mentioned that to strengthen the department, over 24,000 recruitments have been made in the past year, and another 26,000 are in process. He also stated that 3,355 gram panchayats in the state have been declared TB-free. The Ma-Voucher Scheme has been implemented to provide free sonography services in rural and semi-urban areas through government facilities. More than 6.23 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs have been generated in Rajasthan to date.

Senior officials from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare appreciated the state government’s efforts. Smt. Gayatri A. Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, and Shri Ambrish Kumar, Secretary of the Medical Education Department, briefed on the progress of departmental schemes. The meeting was also attended by Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar, the Chief Secretary, and other senior officials of the Medical and Health Department.
