Fisheries Department Seizes Pickup Truck Carrying 1,200 kg of Fish During Ban Period
Jaipur : Director of the Fisheries Department, Mrs. Sanchita Vishnoi, informed that an inspection team constituted by the department seized a pickup truck illegally transporting 1,200 kilograms of fish for sale during the ongoing fishing ban period. The inspection team immediately disposed of the seized fish by burying them in a pit. Mrs. Vishnoi confirmed that this is the department’s first seizure action during the current prohibited season.
She explained that the state government has imposed a ban on fishing during the monsoon season to ensure compliance with ecological regulations. Accordingly, the Fisheries Department has enforced a complete prohibition from June 16 to August 31 on the sale, barter, or display of freshwater fish. Strict legal action will be taken against violators.
It is noteworthy that fishing activities are banned every year during the rainy season to protect and promote fish breeding and ensure their conservation.
