Chief Minister’s Medical Relief Fund Proves Lifesaving for Patients
₹4.9 Crore Assistance Provided to 587 Patients in the Last Six Months
Ahilyanagar – The Chief Minister’s Medical Relief Fund has become a beacon of hope for economically weaker patients in the district. In the past six months alone, approximately ₹4.89 crore (₹48.9 million) has been disbursed through this fund, providing crucial financial assistance to families unable to afford expensive treatments.
The dedicated assistance cell was inaugurated on May 1, 2025, at the District Collector’s Office in Ahilyanagar by Guardian Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil. Applications submitted here are verified promptly and forwarded to Mumbai for further processing. The cell operates under the guidance of Dr. Nilkanth Thakre, with Swapnil Kachhave and Medical Social Services Superintendent Ajay Kale overseeing the daily operations.
This fund supports treatment for life-threatening and critical illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, brain disorders, serious conditions in newborns, kidney and liver transplants, accident surgeries, and expensive orthopedic procedures. Patients also receive guidance about alternative schemes such as Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and RBSK (National Child Health Program) if they are ineligible for direct aid.
The Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Cell, located on the second floor of the Collector’s Office (next to the office of the Resident Deputy Collector), is open for direct public contact. Dr. Thakre has urged citizens to approach the cell directly for assistance.
