Survey All Unsafe School Buildings in the State – Minister of State for School Education Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar
Mumbai : Minister of State for School Education, Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, has directed that priority be given to surveying unsafe school buildings across the state and ensuring that necessary physical infrastructure is provided, emphasizing that both education and the safety of students are of utmost importance.
In view of student safety, Dr. Bhoyar held an urgent meeting regarding the structural safety of school buildings in the state. The meeting, held at Mantralaya, was attended by Principal Secretary Ranjitsingh Deol, Deputy Secretary Sameer Sawant, and others. Through video conferencing, Commissioner of School Education Sachindra Pratap Singh, Samagra Shiksha Project Director Sanjay Yadav, Director of Primary Education Sharad Gosavi, Chief Executive Officers of Zilla Parishads, and all Education Officers from across the state also participated.
Dr. Bhoyar instructed that, as per the guidelines of the National Disaster Management Authority, structural audits of school buildings under Zilla Parishads, municipalities, and municipal corporations should be carried out. The respective reports must be submitted to the Chief Executive Officers of the Zilla Parishads.
He further stated that schools under Zilla Parishads, municipalities, and municipal corporations that are in a dilapidated condition should be thoroughly inspected, and comprehensive plans must be prepared for the reconstruction of these buildings. Additionally, a priority list should be drawn up for the construction of dangerous school buildings, and necessary funds will be provided through the District Planning Committee.
