34 Specially-Abled Students Receive Assistive Devices, Says Education Minister – Their Potential is Equal to Al

Jaipur, Aug 2025 As part of the Inclusive Education initiative, 34 specially-abled students were provided with assistive devices on Sunday at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential Hostel, DIET campus. The equipment, procured from ALIMCO (Kanpur), was personally distributed to the children by Rajasthan’s Education Minister, Shri Madan Dilawar.

On this occasion, the Minister interacted with the children and encouraged them, emphasizing that specially-abled children are in no way less capable than others. He said they possess unique qualities, and history bears witness to the fact that individuals with special abilities have made significant contributions to the progress of humanity. Calling them the “future of the nation,” he underlined their crucial role in India’s development.

The Education Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma are committed to building a self-reliant India. Bringing specially-abled children into the mainstream and ensuring them a dignified life, he said, is a top priority of the government.

He added, “It is everyone’s responsibility to serve people according to their abilities and to demonstrate true humanity. The real test of society is how we help the needy and make our lives, bestowed by God, meaningful.” The Minister also appealed to citizens to strengthen the economy by using indigenous products, avoid plastic use, and actively participate in tree plantation to protect the environment.

He reiterated that the state government stands firmly with every student and is working sensitively under the motto “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”

During the program, assistive devices worth ₹3,54,987 were distributed, including:

  • 02 battery-operated motorized tricycles
  • 01 C.P. chair with commode
  • 12 TLM kits
  • 03 manual tricycles
  • 02 visually-impaired kits
  • 07 wheelchairs
  • 03 rollators
  • 01 Braille kit
  • 05 orthotic devices (KAFO, AFO, BTE)

In addition, philanthropist Smt. Rekha Jain and Shri Dinesh Meena, Director of the Education Cooperative Committee, distributed 52 pairs of shoes to the children, along with 16 uniforms for Scout-Guide students. Umbrellas were also provided for protection against sun and rain. Scout and Guide students showcased pyramid formations and adventure activities, which were praised by the Minister.

Visually impaired student Shraddha Malav expressed gratitude to the Education Minister and the state government. She said the special mobile phone she received will help her pursue education and contribute to the nation’s growth.

On the occasion, the Minister also planted saplings, conveying a message of citizens’ responsibility toward the environment.

Those present included local Councillor Shri Nitin, Education Minister’s OSD Shri Satish Kumar Gupta, Joint Director of Education Shri Roop Singh Meena, District Education Officer Shri K.K. Sharma, CDEO Smt. Pavitra Tripathi, ADPC Shri Rupesh Kumar Singh, ADEO Shri Ram Chandra Meena, Inclusive Education In-charge Smt. Anu Meha Sharma, students, teachers, and prominent citizens of Kota. The program was conducted by Shri Om Pancholi.
