Additionally, they emphasized the need for international cooperation to control global cyber threats.

Crimes Being Committed Through the Dark Web

The Dark Web is a hidden part of the internet, inaccessible to normal search engines and only reachable through special tools like the Tor browser. It is a hub for countless illegal activities such as:

  • Drug Trafficking: Illegal sale of drugs and narcotics.
  • Kidnapping & Human Trafficking: Facilitating human trafficking and illegal trade.
  • Data Theft: Stolen personal data being sold online.
  • Hitman Services: Conspiracies for murder and violence-for-hire activities.

Cryptocurrency and Rising Cybercrime

Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum have given a new dimension to global financial markets. While they offer many advantages, they also come with serious risks:

  • Fraud & Scams: Unauthorized crypto exchanges and pump-and-dump schemes deceive investors.
  • Anonymous Transactions: The anonymous nature of cryptocurrency enables financial fraud, money laundering, and terrorist funding.
  • Cyberattacks: Hacking of crypto wallets and exchanges has led to massive theft of funds.

How to Tackle These Threats

  • Encryption & Secure Communication: Protecting data through encryption and secure messaging to prevent exploitation.
  • Multi-Factor Authentication: Enhancing security for crypto wallets and exchanges.
  • Strict Legal Oversight: Strong monitoring and law enforcement against Dark Web crimes.
  • Crypto Tracking Tools: Using specialized tools and software to trace cryptocurrency transactions.
  • Public Awareness Campaigns: Educating citizens about the risks of cryptocurrency misuse and dangers of the Dark Web.
  • Cybersecurity Training: Teaching individuals and businesses best practices for online safety.
