“Work Collectively on People-Oriented Development Projects for District Growth” – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar
Deputy CM reviews development works in Wardha
Directions issued for quality and standard development works
Ensure Wardha ranks first in the State Government’s 150-day program
Wardha, Aug 2025: Wardha district, sanctified by the presence of Mahatma Gandhi and Acharya Vinoba Bhave, must not lag behind in matters of development. All departments should work together on people-oriented projects. The state government will extend all necessary cooperation for development works, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The Deputy CM reviewed various developmental projects and schemes of the district at the Collector’s office. On this occasion, MLAs Sanjay Khotke, Sameer Kunawar, Rajesh Bakane, District Collector Vanmathi C, Chief Executive Officer Parag Soman, Superintendent of Police Anurag Jain, Deputy Conservator of Forests Harveer Singh, Additional Collector Narendra Phulzele, Additional CEO Suraj Gohad, District Planning Officer Aniruddha Rajurwar and officers from various departments were present.
Deputy CM Pawar instructed that while undertaking innovative projects, priority should be set carefully, and no procurement-based work should be included. If immediate funds are required under the District Annual Plan, they will be made available. Works under the Sevagram Development Plan must be executed with quality. A separate proposal for additional works in old Sevagram village as suggested by public representatives should be submitted. A revised administrative approval proposal for the Sevagram Development Plan should also be presented, which will be approved. He further directed submission of a proposal to install CCTV cameras in Sevagram.
Highlighting the State Government’s ongoing 150-day reform program, Pawar said, “Efforts must be made collectively to ensure Wardha secures the first rank in this initiative.” He added that the Central Government has sanctioned 20 lakh houses for the State, and hence, no family should remain without a home. If beneficiaries lack land, government wasteland should be allocated as per policy to ensure housing benefits reach them. Praising the solar panel initiative for women’s self-help groups under the UMED scheme, he assured approval for more groups to begin such projects and called for proposals to be submitted.
Pawar further announced funding to strengthen the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Agriculture Science Centre) at Selusura. Since the post of District Superintendent Agriculture Officer at Wardha has been vacant for a long time, he immediately instructed the Agriculture Secretary over the phone to appoint an officer without delay.
During the meeting, MLA Sameer Kunawar demanded diesel provisions for the “Desilted Dam, Fertile Fields” campaign, to which Pawar asked for a proposal. He also raised issues regarding a new police station at Hinganghat and the construction of a 400-bed hospital there. MLA Rajesh Bakane brought up the need for funds for the Koteshwar Devasthan (a Category B pilgrimage centre) and for the Agriculture Science Centre.
Priority to be given for Central Government scheme proposals
The Deputy CM emphasized that proposals under Central Government-funded schemes should be prepared on priority, as these schemes bring in substantial financial support.
Unique ID initiative for infrastructure projects appreciated
Wardha district has successfully introduced a unique ID system for infrastructure projects. Praising this, Pawar commended Collector Vanmathi C, stating that the system allows all project details to be accessed at a click, ensuring efficiency and transparency. “The unique ID model adopted in Wardha will be replicated across the State,” he announced.
Presentation on development works
Collector Vanmathi C gave a detailed presentation on the District Annual Plan, Sevagram Development Plan, pilgrimage centre development, infrastructure, irrigation, industries, aspirational talukas, health, sports, housing, transport, education, women and child development, housing schemes, water conservation projects, energy, and more.
