Increase of one thousand rupees in financial assistance to disabled beneficiaries of Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar and Shravanbal schemes

Mumbai, Sept 2025 : Approval was given in today’s Cabinet meeting to increase financial assistance by one thousand rupees for disabled beneficiaries under the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Grant Scheme and Shravanbal Seva State Pension Scheme. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Earlier, these beneficiaries were receiving fifteen hundred rupees financial aid. Now they will be given two thousand five hundred rupees.

Under the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Grant Scheme in the state, destitute men, women, orphan children, all categories of disabled, destitute widows etc. are given fifteen hundred rupees per month as financial assistance. Currently, in the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Grant Scheme there are 4 lakh 50 thousand 700 beneficiaries and in the Shravanbal scheme there are 24 thousand 3 disabled beneficiaries. These beneficiaries will now be given financial assistance of two thousand five hundred rupees per month. This grant will be given from October 2025. For this, necessary provision of 570 crore rupees has been approved.

Approval to policy regarding use of ash in thermal power generation centers

Approval was given in today’s Cabinet meeting to the policy regarding use of ash generated in thermal power generation centers of Mahagenco company. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

As per the instructions of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, the policy regarding use of ash generated in thermal power generation centers was determined in 2016. According to revised guidelines of the central government, changes in this policy were proposed. Accordingly, this policy was approved. Through this policy, 100 percent environmentally friendly utilization methodology of ash has been determined. Through this policy, incentive concessions will be given for use of ash for various components. This will create employment opportunities for locals and project affected people.

Now central Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for 9th, 10th class students of Scheduled Tribes

For Scheduled Tribe students studying in 9th and 10th classes in the state, instead of Suvarna Mahotsavi Tribal Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme, now central government’s Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme will be implemented. This proposal was approved in today’s Cabinet meeting. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

In the state, Suvarna Mahotsavi Tribal Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme is being implemented for 9th and 10th class Scheduled Tribe students in district council schools. When compared with this scheme and the central government’s Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme, in the central scheme the scholarship amount is more than the state scheme. Therefore, it has been decided to implement the central government’s Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for these students. In this, for students staying in government hostels, after deducting the benefits received under the central scheme, the remaining amount will be given from the hostel scheme. This scheme will not be applicable to students studying in aided and government residential ashram schools, Eklavya residential schools, as well as reputed schools.

Approval to Mumbai Anik Depot–Wadala to Gateway of India Metro Corridor-11 project, provision of 23 thousand 487 crore 51 lakh rupees

Approval was given in today’s Cabinet meeting to Mumbai Anik Depot–Wadala to Gateway of India Metro Corridor-11 project and provision of expenditure of 23 thousand 487 crore 51 lakh rupees for it. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Mumbai Metro Corridor-11 is an extension part of Mumbai Metro Corridor-4 (Wadala–Thane–Kasarvadavali). The detailed project report (DPR) of this corridor has been prepared by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). This project will be implemented by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. 70 percent of this corridor is underground. In this, 13 underground and one ground-level station will be constructed. This 17.51 km long project has already been approved by the Infrastructure Cabinet Subcommittee. For this project, a request will be made to the central government for equity of 3 thousand 137 crore 72 lakh rupees and interest-free subordinate loan assistance of 916 crore 74 lakh rupees. Approval was given in the meeting to accept the responsibility of repayment of the loan to be taken for the project.

Approval to Thane Ring Metro Project, provision of ₹30,574.31 crore

In today’s Cabinet meeting, approval was given to the Thane Ring Metro Project and expenditure of ₹30,574.31 crore. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

This metro project will be implemented in Thane district under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The total length of this project is 45 km, with 44 elevated and 1 underground station. For this project, equity support of ₹3,848.01 crore and interest-free subordinate debt assistance of ₹1,517.28 crore will be demanded from the Government of India. Approval was given in the Cabinet meeting to accept the repayment responsibility of the loan to be taken for the project.

Approval to Pune Metro Expansion (Line-1 & Line-2), provision of ₹15,543.50 crore

In today’s Cabinet meeting, approval was given to the Pune Metro expansion project (Line-1 & Line-2) with a provision of ₹15,543.50 crore. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The Pune Metro expansion project will be implemented by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha-Metro). This project consists of Line-1 and Line-2. The total length of this project is 24 km, with 22 elevated and 2 underground stations. For this project, equity support of ₹2,452.64 crore and interest-free subordinate debt assistance of ₹1,155.53 crore will be demanded from the Government of India. Approval was given to accept the repayment responsibility of the loan to be taken for the project.

Approval to Nagpur Metro Expansion Project, provision of ₹10,626.89 crore

In today’s Cabinet meeting, approval was given to the Nagpur Metro Expansion Project and expenditure provision of ₹10,626.89 crore. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The Nagpur Metro Expansion Project will be implemented by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha-Metro). The project length is 43.80 km with 31 elevated stations and one at ground level. For this project, equity support of ₹1,682.54 crore and interest-free subordinate debt assistance of ₹787.63 crore will be demanded from the Government of India. Approval was given to accept the repayment responsibility of the loan to be taken for the project.

Approval to procurement of AC local trains for Mumbai

In today’s Cabinet meeting, approval was given to the proposal for procurement of AC local trains for Mumbai city. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Out of the approved 238 rakes under MUTP-3 and 3A projects, 198 rakes are air-conditioned. These trains will be run on the Central and Western Railway. These AC locals will benefit suburban passengers in terms of safety, comfort, and convenience.

Approval to MUTP-3B project, provision of ₹33,690 crore

Approval was given in today’s Cabinet meeting to the MUTP-3B project and expenditure provision of ₹33,690 crore. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Under this project, the following works will be undertaken:

  • Extension of Harbour Line from Goregaon to Borivali (14 km).
  • Extension of Harbour Line from CSMT to Panvel (56 km).
  • Construction of a new Panvel–Karjat suburban corridor (28 km).
  • Procurement of 210 AC local coaches.

Approval was given in the meeting to accept the repayment responsibility of the loan for this project.

Approval to Pune–Lonavala suburban railway line expansion

In today’s Cabinet meeting, approval was given to the Pune–Lonavala suburban railway line expansion project. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The project includes a third and fourth line between Pune and Lonavala to enhance the capacity of suburban services in this region. This will greatly benefit daily commuters.

Approval to Thane–Navi Mumbai elevated road project, provision of ₹14,600 crore

Approval was given in today’s Cabinet meeting to the Thane–Navi Mumbai elevated road project with expenditure provision of ₹14,600 crore. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

This elevated road project will reduce traffic congestion between Thane and Navi Mumbai and save travel time for passengers. It will also ease goods transportation.

Approval to Nagpur Outer Ring Road and Logistic Terminals Project, provision of ₹25,000 crore

Approval was given in today’s Cabinet meeting to the Nagpur Outer Ring Road and development of Logistic Terminals Project with provision of ₹25,000 crore. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

This project will help reduce heavy vehicle congestion in Nagpur city, facilitate smooth traffic movement, and promote logistics-based industrial development.

Approval to International Bullion Financial Centre (IBFC) in Nagpur

In today’s Cabinet meeting, approval was given to establish an International Bullion Financial Centre (IBFC) in Nagpur. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

This project will strengthen Nagpur as a financial hub for bullion trading and provide employment opportunities.

Approval to construction of new High Court building complex in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, provision of ₹5,000 crore

Approval was given in today’s Cabinet meeting to the construction of a new High Court complex in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex with expenditure provision of ₹5,000 crore. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

This new complex will provide modern infrastructure and facilities for judicial administration and better access to justice for citizens.

Approval to labour law reforms

In today’s Cabinet meeting, approval was given to labour law reforms for simplifying procedures and making them industry-friendly while ensuring workers’ rights. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

These reforms will create a conducive environment for industrial growth and investment in the state.
