Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi Receives ₹3,000 Crore Credit Facility from NCDC – Rural Women to Get Loans at 1.5% Annual Interest

Jaipur, Sept 2025 : The state government’s “Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi” scheme is a significant step towards economically empowering rural women. Under this initiative, members of Rajeevika Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are provided with easy, accessible, and quick loans to start or expand businesses and increase household income.

Sharing details about the scheme, Mrs. Neha Giri, State Mission Director (SMD), Rajeevika, said that women can receive loans up to ₹40,000 within just 48 hours, while higher amounts are sanctioned within 15 days. The scheme is operational across all 41 districts of Rajasthan, reaching nearly 4 lakh SHGs and about 45 lakh rural families. Special priority is given to poor, destitute, and marginalized women. With digital applications and minimal paperwork, the process remains simple and hassle-free.

To expand the scheme further, the state government has secured a ₹3,000 crore credit facility from the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), a statutory body under the administrative control of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. On the occasion of handing over the cheque, Mr. Rohit Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, NCDC, and Dr. Pooja Sharma, CEO, Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi, were present.

The low interest rate ensures that women can expand their businesses without financial burden. Timely credit access has boosted women’s entrepreneurship, income generation, and financial literacy. From application to monitoring, the entire process is fully online. Community groups and women leaders are actively engaged in spreading awareness and ensuring loan repayments.
