Owning a house is the greatest joy : Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that owning a house is everyone’s dream, and there is no greater joy than having it. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has helped over 4 crore people across the country build their houses. The Prime Minister has resolved to ensure that every citizen gets a home.

Dr. Yadav said that 348 families in Neemuch are witnessing their long-cherished dream come true. This Diwali is the most beautiful in their lives as they will celebrate it in their new homes. He was addressing the beneficiaries during a virtual inauguration of the beautiful housing colony built under the Affordable Housing Project by Neemuch Municipality, 8 part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), from Samatva Bhavan at the Chief Minister’s Residence.

Dr. Yadav extented greetings for Grih Pravesh ceremony for these 348 families and conveyed best wishes for Dhanteras and the five-day Diwali festival to all homeowners.

He quoted PM Modi, saying, “When a poor person’s home is lit up, that’s when the country truly celebrates Diwali.” He added that Madhya Pradesh is progressing in this direction and celebrating a Diwali of welfare and development with the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. He emphasized that the government’s intentions and policies are clear and aimed at empowering the poor. In the past, schemes were launched in the name of the poor, but the benefits often failed to reach them for generations. Through PMAY, beneficiaries have received roofs with dignity and security.

Under the PMAY (Urban) 2.0 scheme, the government plans to build 10 lakh houses. Madhya Pradesh has been making rapid progress and has received the Second Best Performing State Award in PMAY (Urban) implementation. Neemuch has consistently performed exceptionally well in this regard.

Dr. Yadav shared that homes worth ₹134 crore are being handed over today in Neemuch, including 144 houses for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 144 for the Lower Income Group (LIG) and60 for the Middle Income Group (MIG)

Additionally, 33 commercial plots are part of the project. He said the multi-storey residences being handed over today are not just houses but parts of a well-developed community. The colony includes Well-paved roads,।Organized drainage system, Overhead tanks, Sewage pumping station, Street lights, Gated security and boundary wall, Children’s park, Primary healthcare center, Bus stop,Fire safety facilities and Reserved land for a school

He said this integrated project lays the foundation for a dignified life and a better future.

Reaffirming his commitment, he said every poor person will have a pucca house. Work is ongoing in mission mode to provide urban poor with proper housing through PMAY. So far, over 49 lakh families in Madhya Pradesh have realized their dream of owning a home — more than 40 lakh rural and 8 lakh urban families. “Our villages and cities are smiling together,” he said.

Dr. Yadav announced that Neemuch will soon have its own medical college and will be connected by air services. He referred to Bhadwa Mata as the Vaishno Devi of Madhya Pradesh and said efforts are underway to further develop the temple site.

He also highlighted the Ladli Behna Scheme, under which funds have been transferred to women’s accounts. An additional ₹250 will be given on Bhai Dooj. Farmers are being supported through the Bhavantar Scheme, and now the government will also procure kodo and kutki grains.

He said that Madhya Pradesh is celebrating both the Diwali of Lamps and the Diwali of Hearts. It is a moment of double happiness — the festival and the fulfillment of a dream.

Dr. Yadav extended his best wishes for prosperity and good health to all new homeowners.
