Students of Manovikas Centre Shine on the International Stage

Represent Chhattisgarh at the International Purple Fest in Goa through Yoga Performance

Raipur, Oct 2025: Students from the Manovikas Centre have brought pride to their district by showcasing their talent on the international stage.

Five children from Chhattisgarh’s Manovikas Centre participated in the International Purple Fest 2025 held in Goa from October 9 to 12, 2025, where they represented Chhattisgarh through a special yoga performance. The talented students from Manovikas Centre, Baloda Bazar, earned recognition for the state and the district with their inspiring participation.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the students for their achievement and encouraged them to continue making the state proud through their dedication and talent. Upon their return from Goa, the students met with the District Collector on Friday and shared their experiences from the event.

Showcasing the Abilities of Divyang Students

Manovikas Centre’s Nodal Officer, Asha Shukla, informed that students Kuldeep Nirmalkar, Tushar Sen, Pushkar Kumar Sahu, Lokesh Kumar Verma, and Kishan Yadav were selected to participate in the International Purple Fest 2025. The students presented a 12-minute yoga performance, highlighting the abilities, discipline, and spirit of inclusion among persons with disabilities (Divyangjans). Through their participation, the students also learned about innovative initiatives and empowerment programs being implemented for Divyang individuals across India and abroad.

A Celebration of Creativity and Empowerment

The International Purple Fest 2025 is celebrated as a vibrant festival of creativity, talent, and empowerment of persons with disabilities. Organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India, in collaboration with the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and UN India, the festival aims to promote inclusion, accessibility, and empowerment for all.

The Purple Fest serves as a platform to raise awareness, showcase the talents of differently-abled individuals, and build an inclusive society where every person has the right to live with dignity and equal opportunities.
