High Level Task Force On Infrastructure & Connectivity Meeting

Aizawl, Dec 2025: Today, the High Level Task Force on Infrastructure & Connectivity in the North East Region, set up under the Ministry of DoNER, held an online meeting. Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma joined the meeting from his office. Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena, Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner & Secretary to the Chief Minister, and other important officials were also present.

Task Force Convener Pu Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura, presented the report submitted by various states regarding ongoing and proposed initiatives in Infrastructure and Connectivity. After the presentation, members held a detailed discussion on the issues raised.

Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma stated that Mizoram has the lowest road density in India, making the need for more roads extremely critical. He highlighted the need for increased air connectivity for the southern region, the requirement for more airports, the importance of having good Inland Waterways, and the need for better integration with railways and national highways to ensure efficient interconnectivity. He also stressed the requirement for improved internet connectivity and better cross-border connectivity with neighbouring countries.

DoNER Minister Pu Jyotiraditya Scindia also participated in the meeting.

Another meeting will be held towards the end of December, during which the final report is expected to be completed.
