Business Roadshow Held in Osaka on the Fourth Day of Chief Minister’s Japan Visit
- Roadshow receives strong response; leading Japanese companies participate

Chandigarh, December 2025 : On the fourth day of his Japan visit on Friday, the business roadshow organised by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in Osaka received an overwhelming response. Leading Japanese companies participated in the roadshow and showed keen interest in investing in the state.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the participation of these major industrial companies reflects strong support for strengthening India–Japan economic relations. He said that it also demonstrates the growing interest of global investors in Punjab’s progressive industrial policies, integrated single-window system and investment-ready opportunities. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government’s aim is to create new opportunities for the youth and to prepare a stable and reliable environment for investors.

Recalling Punjab’s ties with Japanese industry, the Chief Minister said that these relations are already very strong and are continuously growing. He said that several leading Japanese companies have expressed confidence in investing in Punjab. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that due to the investment-friendly efforts of the state government, Punjab has emerged as one of the most preferred destinations for investment across the globe. He highlighted Punjab’s strategic location, seamless connectivity to major ports, strong industrial clusters, uninterrupted power supply, skilled workforce and progressive policy environment.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the governance and regulatory reforms of the state, including the Fast Track Punjab Single-Window System, which provides more than 173 G2B services, auto-deemed approvals, PAN-based business identifiers and amendments to the Punjab Right to Business Act that enable time-bound in-principle approvals. He also highlighted Punjab’s industrial infrastructure and said that more than ₹1.4 lakh crore of grounded investment has already been secured through Invest Punjab. During the event, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his resolve is simple and clear — to make Punjab a preferred destination for global industry by ensuring policy stability, speed in decision-making and a governance system that respects the time and trust of investors.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab’s approach is based on partnership and working together with industries by understanding their needs and ensuring that the government acts as a catalyst for growth. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab has strengthened its infrastructure, expanded its industrial capacity and opened new avenues for investment. He said that partnership between the government and industry is the key to success, and the state government firmly believes that industrial development is possible only when both work as equal partners.
The Chief Minister said that this very principle guides the state’s new industrial policy introduced in 2022, which was formulated after extensive consultations with industry leaders and partners to meet their needs and expectations. Bhagwant Singh Mann informed that the state government has now constituted 24 sectoral committees under the chairmanship of industry leaders to frame sector-specific policies.
He said that such initiatives help open new pathways for Punjab in North India by sharing success stories and long-term vision, as the state invites potential investors and partners to become part of Punjab’s growth story till 2035. He also held a series of high-level meetings in Osaka today, which included discussions with Air Water Inc on new opportunities in industrial gases and engineering equipment.
The Chief Minister also held official discussions with the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) to explore possibilities of cooperation in trade, technology and SMEs. He also held meetings with Tokushima Auction Market and Global Venture Company Limited on agri-market modernisation and supply-chain partnerships. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he was pleased to note the presence of senior Japanese dignitaries at the Osaka Business Roadshow and Reception, including the Director General and Deputy Director General of JETRO, the Director General of the Department of Commerce, Industry and Labour, Osaka Prefectural Government, and the Director General of the International Affairs Department, METI Kansai.
The Chief Minister also invited investors to participate in the Progressive Punjab Investor Summit 2026 to be held from March 13 to 15, 2026, at the Indian School of Business, Mohali, to further promote investment. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this summit will showcase Punjab’s progress, provide a strong platform to leading industrial players and present new opportunities for partnership and collaboration. He expressed hope that Japanese investors would participate in large numbers and further accelerate the industrial development of the state.
