The summit serves as a major platform bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, public sector enterprises, startups, and academic experts, where detailed discussions were held on emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, Cloud, and Blockchain. During the summit, a special edition of eGov Magazine was also released, featuring India’s best digital innovation models and case studies.
In the inaugural session, Assam’s growing role in India’s digital transformation was highlighted. Discussions focused on the state’s key initiatives, innovative governance practices, and public-private partnerships that enable technology-driven inclusive development, linking Digital Assam with the broader vision of Digital India.
The first session focused on the digital infrastructure and economy of the North-East, as the region stands at a crucial turning point with India deepening its digital transformation and accelerating self-reliance in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. The discussion explored how the region can simultaneously strengthen digital infrastructure, promote innovation-led governance, and develop high-value manufacturing clusters, including opportunities arising from initiatives such as Assam’s Jagiroad OSAT facility.
The discussion emphasized policy pathways, connectivity expansion, talent development, industrial ecosystem readiness, and coordinated inter-state efforts to position the North-Eastern states as India’s strategic digital and electronics hub.
The second session focused on smart, safe, and integrated transportation, discussing how emerging technologies, multimodal integration, data-driven planning, and sustainable mobility solutions are transforming the transport ecosystem. Key areas included intelligent public transport, EV adoption, digital ticketing, traffic management systems, last-mile connectivity, and citizen-centric mobility innovations.
The third session covered digital inclusion and technology for startups, highlighting how technology-driven initiatives are transforming lives in healthcare, education, agriculture, and social welfare. It examined how digital tools and startup-driven innovations are expanding access to essential services and empowering citizens in both urban and rural India.
In the fourth session, Commissioner Dr. Santosh Dewangan participated in discussions on smart governance using data, cloud, and AI. The session highlighted how integrated data systems, modern cloud architecture, and responsible AI together can create a unified state intelligence layer that enables faster decision-making, efficient public service delivery, and secure data-driven governance. Best practices, real-life use cases, and the technological foundations required for building connected and intelligent governance systems were also discussed.
It is noteworthy that nearly 300 participants from across the country attended the summit, but only 20 were selected as speakers, making it a matter of great pride that Dr. Santosh Dewangan from Chhattisgarh was among those chosen to share his views.
The final session focused on future-ready digital public infrastructure (DPI) as the key to robust digital infrastructure and efficient, inclusive governance. The session explored how states are advancing BharatNet, 5G, satellite internet, and open digital platforms to ensure seamless service delivery across sectors.
On the second day of the summit, special cultural programs and a networking tour are also scheduled to be organized.
